Newbee wants to Say Hi
Newbee wants to Say Hi
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the Spyderco forum.
I'm not new to Spyderco however,
I was reading on the background for some months now.
Let me introduce my self.
I'm (real name) Frank, I live in the Netherlands.
I'm an tool/mould maker technician/engineer,
work a lot with tool steels, so this fired up my interest in knives.
I'm an knife addict (ofcourse),
collecting the better production folders for a few years now.
I'm 99% collector and just 1% user.
I'm not into only one brand !!!!
I like Spyderco but also like a lot of other knives!
I visited the latest Spyderco meting in Amsterdam together with a friend of mine which most of you will know as "crafft".
There I've became more interested in Spyderco.
I was also overwhelmed by the passion Mr. Glesser had for his product
and the philosophy that Spyderco caries.
I also found that Mr. Glesser stands close to his knife buyers in contrast to other knife manufacturers that also make great designs/products.
This is what got me more interested in Spyderco
and ofcourse the knife itself.
Enough about me,
happy collecting,
florijn :)

Hello Florijn, nice to see you on the forums. I’ve always wondered what good knives retail for over there. Canadian standard is a bit above MSRP, only after extensive searching have I found one company in the entirety of Canada that has decent prices, what’s shopping like over there? Most of the time I order from the U.S. and try to buy as much as possible in one package to make up for shipping costs, does the same strategy work for you?
