MBC Class ?'s

#1

Post by Mr.Skin »

I'll be going to the MBC classes in Aug. And, I had a couple questions.

1) What should I wear, workout or street cloths?

2) Do we get to pick blade edge(Spydie,Stright,Combo) for the live blade?

3) I've read the course outline post here. Do we get anythings write or do we have to remember it all?

4) Well we get to see a prototype or drawing of the Yojimbo?

Thanks

Greetings Gavin~

Hope to answer a few of your questions <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

1) Both workout and street clothes have been worn to the MBC classes. I'd say wear what's comfortable for you.

2) Level 2 comes with your choice of either a Lightweight Delica or Endura in either a PlainEdge, SpyderEdge, or Combo Edge.

3) We will have copies of the class guidelines available for you the day of the class. Michael's books and videos will also be available for purchase after the class.

4) Good question <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Michael?

We'll have a Continental Breakfast waiting for you when you arrive and lunch will be ready 'round noon.

I look forward to meeting you <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Aloha~

Dear Mr. Skin:

Thanks for your questions. Sorry for the slow reply but I've been out of the loop for the past few days shooting a video and teaching a little knife at the "Wind and Rock" camp in Washington state.

In response to your questions:

1) I always train in street clothes because I will most likely be fighting in them. For realistic knife deployment skills, I find them to be an absolute must. You are welcome to wear what you like, but comfortable street clothes would probably be best.

2) Lokelani answered this quite nicely (Thanks, Lokelani!).

3)Each level of instruction includes a detailed written outline, but taking notes would be helpful. A notebook would be a very good idea.

4) I'll gladly share what materials I have on the Yojimbo, but please remember that it's still a work in progress.

Thanks again for the great questions. I look forward to meeting you in August.

Stay safe,

mike j

Dear Mr. Skin:

Wind and Rock was awesome! Joseph Simonet, Addy Hernandez, and Joseph's family and students did an outstanding job of organizing the camp and making everyone feel welcome. They and the other instructors Burton Richardson and Chris Petrilli packed in a tremendous amount of instruction in three short days, yet kept it all relevant so it was easy to retain.

If you get a chance to attend one of these excellent camps, don't pass it up.

I just want to say that these classes are excellent. You are making a wise choice by attending the class. Michael Janich is an outstanding instructor and you will go away with a good working knowledge of how to defend yourself with a blade
