Likely they set it to increase in price as folks order what is remaining in stock, IMO.
Actually that is possible. When you click on the direct link in the first post, the site admins at Sierra can see where their web traffic is coming from. A lot of sites will not allow direct linking use redirecter so you can't tell where the traffic is coming from.

Decided to watch the site for few minutes.

Price went up from $50 to $60 just like that.
Pretty sophisticated.

Just got my dodo in yesterday as well. The grippyness of the g10 looked like it was going to wear down my jeans quick but spending some time loving and rubbing it has seemed to make it better. Really like the grip. Only gripe is the opening doesn't seem all that smooth. Had to loosen the screw a little and add some lube. The ball lock took some getting use to but looking forward to seeing how the pkal feels compared to this. Was there two versions of the dodo where one was refined? If so anybody know the differences?

Anybody that has the dodo find that it is missing something? It's a bit quiet when I open her and I don't hear that reassuring snap of a lock engaging even though it does. Does that bother anybody else?

Ball locks don't "Snap" like back locks, liner locks, etc., especially if you use your thumb to open the blade in a standard fashion. If you open the blade with two hands instead of one (making sure the blade isn't touching either side) the blade makes the snap sound. Either way it is rock solid.

Got my Spot and Dodo today. :)

The ball lock definitely sounds different from back locks and liner locks, but I like it. :D It certainly doesn't sound unreassuring.

I did think the ball would stick out the sides a little more. I have to use my thumb nail to unlock it. Is there some trick I'm missing?

Also, I tried searching for it but couldn't find it. What does it mean if my Dodo's tang tapers? Old? New? Weaker? Stronger?

this is a great company and no i don't work for them
This was a great post! :)

Ordered one at $49 and got it this week. Loved it so much I went back to order another one and found the $10 price jump. Wish I'd ordered 2 or 3 the first time. Now, with only one, I can't EDC ... it's gotta go in the "safe".

May go ahead and get another one at $59.

Got a Yojimbo today in the mail! (eBay) Now I need 2 of these also.
