Trainers are the way!

I know some of you miss the point of trainer DRONES completely..

As we train we do under stress..

when one uses a Trainer DRONE and we feel it runacross our bodies..we're not supposed to say OK it doesn't matter it's a trainer..WE're supposed to freak out and go ****..What did I do wrong that Steel crossed my flesh?..**** I'm lucky that I was using a trainer and HOW DO I CORRECT MY MOVEMENT OR REACTION?

Do you really think that Mike, Jim and I really don't use trainers?

My god we use them all the time to insure that we do things CORRECTLY and that under stress we don't grab the attackers blade, hand or body the wrong way, we don't check an incoming attack improperly and that we don't cut ourselves as we use our knives..

Training blades allow one to se the proper way to handle a knife. open & close a knife without the danger of getting cut..

It allows one to learn & teach Blade Etiquette without the danger of cutting one's self or others..

Training DRONES alow for the proper accessig of ones knife without the accidental cut from the action and motion of drawing the tool under duress...

SPYDERCO is showing the responsiblity and wisdom in the knife world, setting & making the path of safe training & usage... lighting the way of steel.. by making trainer drones for the MBC line up..

Emerson knives is on the same path, for they just started making trainers..

Benchmade has trainer drones..

When my first design was made years ago I had to force the maufacturer to make Trainer drones..

SPYDERCO understands and wants us all to train safely..to understand steel without any danger to ourselves and others..

So Don't knock trainers..especially functional trainers..they are a godsend from SPYDERCO...

Furthermore, when you use a trainer that is the same size, weight, shape, and feel as the live blade that you intend to carry, such as a Gunting drone, you will develop a dexterity that you simply cannot attain with a rubber knife or a wooden tanto.

Amen brother!!!

I confirm what Bram has just said. Having just spent the weekend with JAK I can tell you that not one live blade was used during the entire three days.

It may seem "tough" or real or some other thing to train with live steel but it's about as smart as riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Sure, it's a free country, but don't be shocked when you bleed, or cut a tendon in you hand, or die, and don't think it hasn't happened; it has.

Don't be cheap. Get a trainer learn how to cut and to not cut yourself. You'll be a better martial artist for it.
