Scream if you like, but the one thing I missed on my Native was a fine point. So I bought another and "fixed" my carry blade. That is the best part anout having them available at Wal Mart, I don't feel bad about voiding my warranty, and I use mine a lot more now.

I had both Native models. I used the S30V a lot after the hurricane, but the III got lost somehow. I was thinking of getting another III, but first, a question: Have they fixed the "hard to open" problem they had on the III? It seems the spring was to strong to allow one hand opening.

Wow, very interesting modification. It looks pretty nice, and I'm usually not a very big fan of clip blades, it just looks very "at home" on the native.

yab,
That is a great mod you did on that knife. I like that shape. Is it an S30V model?

I really like it! Thats a neat way to mod your Native, even though it voids your warranty, it's worth it if you enjoy using :)

Yes, it is the S30V blade. It took about an hour on the wet grinder to reshape the blade without it getting hot. I'll take a picture tomorrow in the closed position so you can see how that looks. I like how it feels both in my pocket and in use a lot better now. It may even manage to displace that Delica it was shown with. :D

Just got me a Native to see what all the fuss is about.... and now I know :D

I like the workman-like feel to the knife and especially the blade shape.

A modern day classic!

I´m glad that so many people are getting to know the Native better. :D It continues to be my favourite Spydie as an all-rounder.
I know a man who has a few more Natives that you might be interested in! ;)

Cheers, Ken

Hiya Ken,
I was wondering if you were going to show :D
As I have not seen any posts from you for a few days, I figured you must be on Holiday somewhere. :D

The native is my most carried knife. It’s always IW right behind my cell phone holster. Concealed yet easily accessible. It’s small enough to be non-threatening, yet big enough to be useful. I have bothe frn natives but my favorite is the golden. I love the CPM S30V and thinner handle.
There ain't no rules around here. We're trying to accomplish something.

I really like this mod! kind of considering doing the same to mine. How did you go about removing that much steel without messing up the heat treatment?

How did I miss this before???

The Native is one of the greatest Spydies ever!!! So far as my EDC arsenal goes, my Natives and Dodos (sorry, just being honest) are the most carried and the best all around knives I've ever owned!

I wish I had good pictures to post, but it's too late to take them :o BTW, yablanowitz, that is an AWESOME mod on your PE Native. It has a really Renegade/Blackhawk feel to it! (these are knives I feel get far too little praise as they were major contributors to the current Native design). Tempting to try except I don't have those kinds of tools or time.

Gotta get a picture of me and my boss with our twin Natives (Got him hooked with the Delica, Poliwog on his own, then I suckered him into a Native!).

Of course there's no downside to all of that :p .

The grinding was done on an old WEN WetWheel grinder I have had for 20 years. I don't know if anyone makes one anymore. It is a fairly low speed, small diameter, wide wheel which has a felt brush with one end against the wheel and the other in a water reservoir. The stone stays wet all the time, so you can to a lot of grinding without heating the metal. It did take some time, but I think it was worth the effort. :D

I love my Native

I had been carrying a BM-556 Griptilian and then I got a native. Something about the feel just made me realize it would replace my BM-556 as my EDC.

It's the best!!!!!!!!
