Neck sheaths????????Belt sheaths????
I was wondering if Spyderco made or is planning to make neck sheaths or belt sheaths. Are they?
I have no idea, but sort of doubt it. I just posted the following on a thread about sheaths for kitchen knives:
"Eric Noldechoen -- Normark -- and Mike Sastre -- River City Sheaths -- are very highly regarded Kydex/Concealex sheath makers. They have many common knives, so don't need yours for making the sheath. Something as "unusual" as a kitchen knife might require your sending them your knife.
I don't have either URL handy. Both post frequently on the Review forum and the General forum at Blade Forums."
I believe Mike Sastre specializes in Spydie sheaths. Highly unlikely you'd have to send in your knife.

for Spyderco neck sheaths, check out skunkworks... Frank is on this forum, or email him with questions.
I am currently in the process of getting a new type of sheath for my delica.
*It opens the knife as you pull it from the sheath.*
I am getting the price emailed to me soon, and will update you guys on the price of these new ones...
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Dear Knife Dude:
I recently had Mike Sastre make up a couple of kydex sheaths for an Endura and an Endura trainer that I used for demonstrations at MBC classes. These sheaths are designed to carry the knife in the open position and function as IWB, neck, and belt-carry rigs.
Mike also makes great neck carry rigs that hold closed Spydercos by the butt end of the handle. Opening is performed by grasping the blade hole, drawing and flowing right into a handle drop opening - very slick and great for times when clipping the knife to your pocket or waistband is impractical.
Mike does excellent work and does have just about every Spyderco design to mold from. For more information, contact him at:

Tell him I sent you.

Gazza,
I think you'll find that the sheaths which Spyderco sell through the SFO are also made by Mike Sastre (River City Sheaths). I'll add my endorsement ot the others here. I have neck sheaths for my G10 Harpy and BF Native and they are definitely the goods. As well Mike is a beaut bloke to deal with.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Saw Eric's name mentioned.
Here's a link to the On/Scene Tactical site:

I own 3 of Eric's fixed blade sheaths, and a horizontal belt rig for a folder, and have nothing but praise for both the man and his products.
I see links don't work on this forum. That is the correct URL, though, so can be copied and pasted.
