Waved Endura / Delica - Color

#1

Post by TazKristi »

There seems to be some confusion over the new Waved Endura 4 and Delica 4.

They are grey. It is a dark grey, but it isn't black. ;)

Hopefully side-by-side pics will help.

But there will soon be black waved E4s and D4s as standard? That was news to me.

Any idea when the black handled waved E4s and D4s go into regular production, apparently some slipped through the net recently like the new spyderenches, so they must be pretty close.

No, there are currently no black handled Waved Enduras or Delicas in the mix. Regular production is the grey.

Oh dear, now I'm confused, so the current grey waved E&D4s are a 500 piece sprint but they will be going into regular production in the future?

Um, I think Kristi just said the waved E4 and D4 are regular production and all gray.

Now, if you want a black waved Endura and a gray regular Endura...... :D

Ok, Now, I don't get it.

When you close the wave E4, what happens to the hook? Where does it disappear?!?!?  :D

Looks like a black handled Endura 4 that faded due to sun exposure.

Oh well, color does not really matter to me.

I don't see why you couldn't easily switch the handles out with a regular E4 or D4, is this possible?

Wow, how did I not notice that before! In the pictures of the waved D&E4s there is no waved on the closed picture.

Ruxton,
That's why we always use that phrase "Production Prototype Pictured" :o

That picture was actually mocked up for us in Photo Shop because we needed a photo - good eye psimonl! A new picture will be up shortly.

One last try at clarifying... ;)
There is no Black Waved Endura or Delica 4. There aren't any plans for either currently.

The current production models are grey (dark grey). These are regular stock, not a sprint run. It would seem that they are dark enough for some folks to confuse as black. But they aren't.

Ok, if I confused anyone else, post here and we'll straighten it all out. :D

I believe the "original limited run" to which Carlos referred was the run of Waved Enduras produced about a year back for the Self Defense Forum. Those were the older, barrel bolt clip, style Enduras and the handles were a lighter grey. The new, regular production version, although "technically" grey look black unless you either look at them under extremely strong light, or compare them side by side with a black FRN one. Anyone seeing one under normal light conditions would describe it as black. Same goes for the Waved Delica.

Ahhhh suddenly it all becomes clear! That's great the waved D&E4s are regular production rather than sprint runs, I thought I'd missed my chance to get one :D
EDIT also in that picture it looks like the top one is an endura and the bottom is a delica :p

I'm not confused, but maybe thebladeshop is. THey said they had been expecting grey, but got black in the first shipment. And further, they said they were told that in 2-3 weeks they'd be getting the grey.

My bad, I thought they were black. :o In my defense the grey is so dark that it passes for black at first glance.

I guess I need to call thebladeshop on monday and tell them to go ahead and send me one of the "black" waved delicas and take me off the pre-order list for that "grey" one that was on its way next week or so. No matter to me, that just means I'll be getting my new delica that much sooner!
