I just got off of the telephone with Kevin/Spark.

The entire server has to be replaced. It is an expensive endeavor, and as you can guess, Kevin is very unhappy about financing a long-term project that does him little if any good.

I've had a Platinum membership there for almost a year. Its due for renewal coming up in July I think. I certainly hope Sparks is going to extend everyones deadline the same number of days the site has been down because if not it will really play a role in whether I renew as a gold or platinum member. I'll certainly be complaining if they cancel my membership on the due date after this kind of down time. (kidding)

I hope its up again soon actually. I gladly pay for my membership there do to the exposure the site provides.

It is not necessary to do extraordinary things in life but only to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.

Well then darn it!! Let's don't let it go under either!! There are quite a few of us here to start with that were "dues paying" members of BF. IF anyone knows how to get ahold of Kevin/Spark then let's talk to him and see what we can do to help him out. You know guys we have a really good SPYDERCO slot on BF too you know. IF it's just replacing the server then let's pass around the collection plate and fix it. I would be glad to renew my 2007 Platinum membership in advance. Maybe if a few dozen of us would do that we could get this going again. I personally enjoy both of these Forums too much to see either one of them die :(
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

So are they officially "Out-of-Business" and we should remove them from our Favorites list?

The one forum I would not miss is the British Blades Forum with all their whiney comments about their goofy UK knife laws.

The British government is really scared of its citizens' ability to act responsibly, and independent of higher authority intervention it appears.

I hope they vote to toss those controlling folks out like the voters did in Canada. In the UK they now have secret screening devices in their bus and train stations looking for folks carrying knives (any kind)!

This would be funny if it were not true.

Someone should ask Kevin/spike what we could do help. It really would be a shame to lose this forum. I would join to help but that is impossible with the site down. Steven

I love BladeForums. I just signed up for a gold membership last month. I will be so sad if it dies! I need it in order to be happy. If BladeForums does not come back... I will do something bad!! ;)
