Well, I've used it, did not particularly care for it. Like all the "boutique" browsers it has it's own little annoying quirks, pictures in standard formats that just do not display on simple html pages and odd rendering of some pages that use CSS are the major ones that I've noticed. I gave up trying to "dumb down" my extremely simple website so that it would display acceptably in Netscape and Opera, did not even waste my time trying to figure out what the "issues" are with Firefox.

Perhaps that's part of the reason I did not "get" that video at all. AFAIK, none of the other browsers make noises, unless perhaps there are settings to do so that I just never use. What exactly are they trying to say? Is there a point that I missed, or is it just suppose to mean "we don't really have good solid reasons for thinking Firefox, is superior, so we'll just make silly fun of the competition"?

there is not much to get in the video. if you are sophisticated with your humor, you will not get it. there is no witty pun in there or anything worthwhile ;)

EDIT: in fact, this video might even insult your intelligence. proceed with caution.
my childish humor

I use Firefox and I really like it. For the most part I don't have any issues at all with it and I have NO POPUPS.
That was pretty funny BTW :) :D .

I went to Firefox last year & have never looked back.

Tabbed browsing is great. Spend a little time checking out all that Firefox has to offer. Then pick what you think you'll use & disregard the rest. Just too much stuff to play with. :)

I use a very simple html page stored on my own computer as my home page. The HEAD contains nothing but a TITLE, the BODY consists of a set of nested tables, and each cell, except for two in the lower corners, contains a bookmark. The two corner ones both contain references to same image, a small Spyderco "bug" in .GIF format. The page background is another .GIF file. Both .gifs are stored in the same directory as the page. Firefox renders the page with a plain white background and no "bugs". Tried putting the bug in a different directory, no joy. The only way I could get the "bug" to display was to change the reference to a copy of the same file on my website! Needless to say, page works fine in all three of the others.

For the record, I have no popups in IE either, except for those I have told it to allow. I assume you must be able to do the same with Firefox. Some e-commerce websites do use them for their shopping cart, to display detailed information about one of the products on a page, or for other acceptable purposes, so total blockage is not really a viable alternative.

You can download Internet Explorer 7 Beta if you want, it has tabbed browsing.

Well, call me old fashioned, but I would rather (and very often do) have three separate instances of my browser open, all set for full size, than give up screen real estate to the "controls" for tabbed browsing.

You're old-fashioned! :D (just get a 17" TFT screen with a decent resolution (or bigger), and you'll have all the space you'll ever need)
Firefox doesn't have the security flaws IE has/had. It has a decent pop-upblocker, which is very well able to tell a real pop-up from a necessary one. TABBED BROWSING. It has a cleaner look (the icons, for example).

I've been using Firefox for a long time now and really like it. I switched mainly for the security and havn't had any problems with pop ups or anything else for that matter. I know Mozilla is working on a newer version, but I havn't read up on it yet.

I strongly dislike Internet Explorer. It just does not do what I want it to.

I do like Firefox a lot though:
-Better security
-Better responce to bugs
-tabbed browsing
-plugins
-I can use it on Linux, OSX and Windows (and I do)
-Open Source
-etc.

I have been using Firefox for the last couple of years and it is my main browser. I run Firetune and FasterFox to really get quick surfing out of Firefox. I also use Firefox Preloader for my XP machine.

I'm a big fan of tabbed browsing, having gone thru Slimbrowser and Avant, then Mozilla.

For you Firefox fans, try the "colorful tab" extension. It's a really simple idea and I am hooked on it. You can easily tell the tabs apart and the current tab is shown in BOLD. Another extension I use alot is the image zoomer.

Some of the great features are the "find" function, right clicking to google search a phrase or text, and the ability to block all ads from the same source.

I use the Noia 2.0 Extreme theme to set Firefox apart from my other browsers.

Someone mentioned a bigger monitor?

True, I started using Firefox after I got my 21" so I haven't noticed any problems with realstate. :D

Just for reference (if anyone is interested) I got my monitor from Eagle Computers for a Factory Refurbished Dell (Sony) Trinitron Apeture Grill it was $150 with free shipping (the free shipping was only for orders over $200 so basically I got the video card I purchased for $25 instead of $75).

Very decent vendor from my 1 experience.
