Yeah Doc,
It is CF. potterma did a great job on it for me. As soon as I got it back from him in the mail, I decided to order some silver 550. I do wish it was better shade of silver to match the CF better, but I still like it.

Thanks

Somehow Doc, I had a feeling you'd like that one. I got the 550 in blaze last week, and it looks great.

Thanks for sharing Ray. Any chance of getting a closer look at those lanyards and beads?

Not a great pic, just one I snapped real quick. This is my endura 4 with its lanyard. I put my pinky through it to keep my knife from falling if I drop it.

That's a cobra stitch keychain lanyard/fob with a wooden bead and a lobster clasp. An easy way to carry 5 feet of paracord on your keychain, you could double that amount if you use the king cobra stitch. Take 5 feet of cord, hold the ends together, from the loop end measure about 7 inches back and start the cobra stitch working toward the loop end pushing the knots tight after every two or three(can also use the twist stitch if you want the corkscrew shape instead of the flat cobra stitch), when you run out of cord, trim the ends and quick melt 'em with a lighter, add a bead if you like, and loop it onto a keyring, carabiner, or clasp.

has anybody used a lanyard to successfully create a
Spyderco-Nunchaku?

It would be something like this:
Spyderco knife + Lanyard + a straight stick like a Yawara stick.

I know it sounds crazy, but recently I purchased a butterfly knife,
it is tons of fun to play with. So I was just thinking if my spyderco knife
can be used for some fun skill development.

good idea, yay/nay?

this is my buck alpha folder, but i like to brandish the chain lanyard, which doubles as a whip or as extra reach if twirled around with blade exposed!

Gander_Man (from CPF) designed these, and had me make some llike them for him. I believe that these could work for something similar to which you speak. Not exactly a straight stick, but the 1-inch, SS, ball bearing would definitely get thier attention. He designed it with the intention of putting it on a flashlight (although I believe others have put them on knives or key-chains), and I suppose it could be used to flail, after the of momentary blind/stun with the light. I suppose it could possible work as a Nunchaku.

do you take the core out on these? Yours looks a little more rounded than the one I tried.

I'm too lazy to go back through all 40 some odd pages of this thing and check. Does anyone have a link to a place that shows how to tie some of this stuff? I don't really care for lanyards on my knife, but that idea of "5 feet of paracord on your keychain" really speaks to me if I can find out how to do it. Thanks
