Visit to Mayfield Dairy Farm! (some pics)

#1

Post by Axlis »

I'm kinda bored tonight, so I thought I'd share our visit to Mayfield. I think it's mostly a southern thing, but Mayfield Milk is pretty big here, and they make some pretty darn good Ice Cream too(I love Ice Cream, that's why I capitalize it :D ). Anyway, the tour didn't allow pics of the processing plant, so we took a few outside, hope you enjoy!

Here's the front gate, Mayfield is known for everything being yellow.

Follow the yellow brick road!

Okay, this kinda freaked me out!

Can you spot what REALLY doesn't belong in this picture

After the tour we got some Ice Cream(not free of course) This is "Play-dough" flavor, neon yellow vanilla Ice Cream with colored chunks of sugar cookie dough

I had "Smokie Mountain Fudge" super delicious!

I just HAD to get my picture taken on the bronze cow

This warning was above the bronze cow, PRICELESS!!!(and it was quite hot.)

That conludes our little Picture tour, have a nice day

Awesome pictures Axlis

I can imagine how hot that cow was. At the local zoo up here they have a similar sculpture of a lion made of who knows what metal, and it's painted black. So in the dead of summer it likes putting your posterior on a preheated stove

Not sure how I feel about yellow ice cream...kinda reminds me of yellow snow :p

The cow was pretty warm as it is, but I wouldn't want to sit on it in mid July for sure! Maybe you could fry an egg on that thing

Yellow Snow? DON'T EAT THE YELLOW SNOW!......but yellow Ice Cream is quite tasty :p

Even Southern folk know not to eat the yellow snow.

No pictures in the plant? I blame the lawyers on that rule. I can't imagine to many secrets could exist for ice cream manufacturing, but maybe I'm wrong... :(

What state is you Mayfield in? I live outside Mayfield, KY. We don't have an ice cream plant. But, we do have a chicken plant. And a Winchester plant. (until recently)

Hello NoBite :)

This Mayfield plant is in Athens TN, about an hour north of where I live. There is also one in Braselton GA, and an Ice Cream only plant in Birmingham AL :)
