ZDP is a laminated steel (San mai) construction where you a hard core sandwiched between two layers of milder steel.
This way , like the old samourai swords you wil get a SHARP knife and with some flexibility ( to avoid breakage, chipping, etc)
It's better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6

Just a note on that: San Mai is actually a trademark of Cold Steel for their laminated blades, which is the reason why I prefer not to use it. The japanese name for this technique as far as I could figure out is "warikomi".

Will the ZDP Delica's have the usual handles, or something special/unique? :spyder:

How much will they cost?

How, when, where & why should I buy one?

:spyder: The handles will be blue. The knife will be 30% more in cost. Buy one as soon as possible, the zdp caly jr. has generated some steel buzz. :spyder:

The ZDP on the Delicas will not be laminated (last I heard), but solid ZDP.

Navy FRN handles (otherwise same as regular D4).

The waved models (I think) were gonna be grey FRN with VG-10 steel. But the proto pics I saw had black FRN.

The Foliage Green FRN D4 (if still in the works) should be coming Summer with VG-10 as well.

I'm on the "me want list" with New Graham Knives for the ZDP (and Waves hopefully). The reason to buy one?.. Just read all the raves about the ZDP Caly Jr. (Scalpel this...and sharpest thing ever that...) :D

A hook or other protrusion on the spine of the blade which will catch on the edge of the pocket and open the knife as it is drawn. Invented by Ernest Emerson. (tip up carry only)

Waved Endura colors

#18

Post by Monocrom »

Does anyone know what color the handles and clip on the waved Endura are going to be? Are they both black? I'm sure collectors will buy them, regardless of color. But I plan on actually carrying the one I get. Black handles and clip, on black pants is more pragmatic.

I believe they would have the same handle colour as the Endura 3, a dark grey/blue tone, very classy!
