Firstly I just want to say that there is so much interesting reading in these threads, it's great.
Has anyone any clue (especially if there should be anyone from the UK) if customs allow the passing of folding knives into the UK? I'm asking because unfortuantly I have came across only a limited number of Syderco models in the UK compared to those that are on offer via US based websites.
I have checked the International dealer list on the Spyderco web site for a UK stockist, got in touch with them and I'm currently awaiting a reply but I would also be extremely interseted in finding out if anyone has had any dealings in the above matter.
The prices through the web seem so much lower when the dollars is converted to pounds too, even when VAT and Duty is added should customs allow passing.
Importing question?
yeh it is hard to get hold of spyderco over here i did manage to find a few sites though
http://www.heinnie.com/
http://www.edgar-brothers.co.uk/
you can fin local stockisks in the 2nd one
but the thing is customs would not allow u to bring any in as the restriction on knives in the uk and especcialy in ireland.
the sites i have listed do have some good dealers that can import though

Thanks for the links thalium, it looks like I'm going to have to use a UK based company, although Heinnies seem to have a decent selection of knives but I notice they also seem to limit the blade choice on some of their knives. I'll maybe try to get in touch with them to see what they say.
Out of interest have you had any dealings with either of the places you mention? I assume you haven't as you didn't say although I was just curious in case you had heard any bad reports etc..
