Which knife gets the most use???

#1

Post by smcfalls13 »

I was opening boxes today at work, and abusing my poor Dodo as I usually do, and I realized that the Dodo usually gets almost all of the work load on any given day. I've got several other knives with me most days, but for the types of cutting I do a lot of, the Dodo is usually the best option.

It's ironic, the Persian is by far the favorite, but it's the Dodo that I go to for most cutting. I feel guilty not using the Persian. :o

I was wondering, for those who carry multiple :spyder: s, which one actually gets the most use?

I usually try to split up the cutting duty. Today I started asking coworkers which pocket to determine which knife to use. RF persian LF dragon fly. I just got a fullsize persian and as much as I like it, cutting boxes is not its strong point, but its fun to use.

Currently it has been the Walmart special, the Native. I have been using it to cut up excess boxes, heavy plastic bags of insulation etc. I have to say, this is my first experience with S30v as a user and it has my respect so far.

I pretty much always have my Caly ZDP on me, with a larger folder to back it up, usually my Para or my new BM Stryker 910. My Para definaltly gets the most use by far. I just got my Dodo this week, so we will see how much use it gets.

Yeah, it is also the Calypso, Jr. for me as well. I always have at least 3 knives on me; sometimes 4.

My Adventura gets most of the cutting work, followed by the D4 and the SF. ;) Take Good Care.

God Bless :)

you'll like that dyad blackninja. I edc'd one for a year on the boat, and it was one of the most versatile knives I've owned. I put it aside after the prices skyrocketed last spring, so I would not lose it. I don't think I could replace it.

:spyder: I carry two MBC knives in my front pockets and a zdp caly jr in my back pocket. 95% of actual cutting tasks get done with my se ladybug II on my keychain. :p :o I like to keep the edges of my MBC knives dedicated to self-protection, so they'll be sharp when I need 'em. :spyder:

The three top used in my EDC rotation .. Always on me and used the most is my Adventura, then my ZDP Caly jr and then my ATR SE. I really love the blade on the Adventura. It was my first recurve and so far i am very impressed.

For the last year or more, it has been a Stretch. That may very well have changed though. The Atlantic Salt that STR customized for me has been proving itself to be every bit as good as practical I hoped it would be. Still have to see how it handles weekend KP, but so far it seems like a winner in both the looks and function departments.
