can anyone tell me what "G-2 Stainless " means? its on the bottom of the kick on my old endura. What does "Seki city - Japan" refer to? - its on the other side.

G-2 Stainless is the steel. It is also known by the name Gin-1.

Seki City is the place of manufacture of the knife.

Have the new Enduras changed much from my old one? - I think mine must be about 9 yrs old and has the spyder edge. - I have yet to sharpen it!

Patrick,

I was just comparing mine last night.
What I have noticed about the new one (2000 model), is
.the Lock appears to be more solid (I didn't think it was possible).
.the volcano grip pattern is smaller and appears to be much more aggresive.
.the blade is longer (about 3/16&quot
.the clip is quite a bit stronger. So far I havn't had the new one fall out of my pocket.

Overall, I didn't believe that you could improve on the older Endura Model, but I am quite pleased with the new model.

Dude,

The old or rather, early Endura is truly a piece to marvel at! Since its introduction, this very popular spydie had underwent some refinements.. You can bet on the sheer reliability of this blade!!! Think that there are some GREEN handled ones which are circulating around in small numbers.. This I must say, is rare and highly collectible!!

Hi Samo,

When I purchased my 1st Endura in Black, I bought my brother a serrated model in Green.
Some day, I may have it back in my collection.

Patrick, it is great that you have had such a great experience with your Endura, but after 9 years it's time to get a Sharpmaker and sharpen that edge! You've probably forgotten by now how sharp that blade was from the factory.
