Back at ya, Chad! Stay safe in there, bro'. Hope you can get at least a little time off this weekend. Pick up that telephone if you have to, and call in sick.

Hey Jim! :D

Unfortunately, you know as well as I do, admin rely on CO's like us........we don't call in sick! No doubt both you and Chad have co-workers that are quicker with that call than a scalded cat! That's why us three seem to spend more than our fair share behind the wire!

Have a safe one Jim, warmest regards to you and yours. :)

Simon, you're right. That's a part of my bitterness at the system, too; I've given so much. Endured sacred days away from my family, endured terror, spilled blood, had bones broken, put up with anxiety and depression the likes which I can't even begin to describe, seen people killed in front of me. And what does the administration give me in return? They screw with me and remind all of us that they don't even consider us to be human, that we're lower than murderers/rapists/child molesters every chance they get.

I doubt that anyone can endure all of that and not feel at least mildly bitter.
God bless you, my brother. I wish you all of the best.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Chad.

Hope your shifts are uneventful.

Found this on the web:
Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the cells,
The convicts were locked down
Madder than ****.
Except for the lifers
Kicked back on their bunks
With heads filled with visions
Of all of these grumps.
When suddenly from the roof top
There arose such a roar
That the cops thought
It must be a riot for sure.
The goon squad came running
Ready to hit
And the Sergeant yelled out,
“Who started this sh*t?”.
“It came from the roof,”
Sniveled some low life snitch.
“Must be a break out.
Oh! Son of a b*tch!”
They climbed to the rooftop
By way of the stairs
And found a fat freak
In bright red underwear.
“Ho! Ho! Ho!” said the dude,
“I’m here on the scene”.
“Good Lord,” said the Captain
“We’ve captured a Queen!”
They yelled, “Hey you in the sleigh,
Get your hands on the wall.”
Then slapped on the cuffs
And searched him an all.
They booked him, and threw him
In the hole with a kick;
Well, so much for Christmas
They’ve busted St. Nick!

Jbake, I was going to post that very same poem, but wasn't sure if it would be well-received here, lol! I love it, by the way, and having worked in Corruptions....er, I mean, Corrections...for so long, I can vividly visualize each and ever line of that poem in my mind's eye. That makes it even more comical for me!

Aloha ALL,

Mahalo much for the replies. I did manage to scan my "second home" a bit between 16+hr. shifts, but was in no state of mind to post or thread. Shoot, I'm still not sure if I am in the right state of mind to do so! :D

New Years is gonna be the same, if not worse. We are looking at possible 24hr. shifts!    :( However...

I will deal with that when it comes. For now, it's good to have the day off, and to be "home"! :)

God bless all of you and thanks everyone!
