Straight edge Rescue

#1

Post by kb0rrg »

I love my rescue, but I am not a fan of serations. Is a straight edge Rescue available. I have thought of grinding off the teeth, but I am suspect that that would end badly. Thanks

I know they made the Mariner with a plain edge, but it has a stainless handle and the blade shape is also a little different from the current Rescue. They are also a little hard to find because they have been out of production for a while.?.? Sorry not much help...

Hi KbOrrg. Welcome to the spyderco forum.

We'll be making a few plain edge Rescues this year.

I would guess the best way to get one is to hang out here long enough for an announcement to be made about it. Then just call up SFO and put it on order whenever it becomes available.

You can always go to your local Spyderco dealer and preorder one. That is how I received my Chinese folder. Sometimes it helps to support your local dealers so they get to know ya.

Ummmm... Plain-edged rescue... I think the toothed ones are AWESOME cos they really bite!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> *hee-hee!* Would it be a limited run? Or an addition to the Spyderco SKU?

wow,a few days ago I posted the same thing on bladeforums.Yes I want one.Like I always say an emt shears is much preferred to a knife for cutting off clothes, but once in awhile you use what you got,and serrations tend to hang up and a plain edge slides right through.

This may seem strange, but can we see a plain rescue in an orange G-10 maybe a sprint or test run with a compression lock for operational placement for hard use cutting and a little thicker around the hole to make it just a little bigger???

Someday my friends,I'll own em all!!!

Ummm, this is an interesting development Sal. How many pieces of the plain-edge rescues are making it in the run?

WOW I'd love to get may hands on a plain edge (orange handle) rescue jr. About how soon will they be available? I order thru either Knives Plus or the Cutlery Shoppe. I'll call them and place an order. (Back order)

They are available now. Check with SFO or your local cutlery store to order some.
