Spydies vs. the "competition"

I recently purchased a Jaguar brand knife, with clip and all ( except the Spyderhole )

and set aside my "Cricket" to try out this

new purchase ; I had trouble with the clothing clip, and generally found the knife

uncomfortable to carry. I must confess : At

night I clip my knife to my pajamas ( in the

Army they taught us to sleep with our M-16's)

the new knife was uncomfortable and I lost sleep over it. Today I clipped my "Cricket"

back on and, by comparison, seemed to "vanish". Just another good aspect of Spyderco's engineering !

I understand your Jaguar dilema fully Allen. I picked up two Jaguars on a fluke about six months back. I am not sure what the models were but the larger one seemed to be a knock-off of a Smith&Wesson design while the other seemed about the size of a ladybug. Both were liner locks. Sadly, I never felt enough confidence in either piece to go out of the house even once with either of them! They were lightweight, and descently sharp, but the locks kept failing! I also agree with the clip being uncomfortable for carry, and I'm just talking about in my jeans! In their defense, I suppose that's all I should expect for knives that cost under $4. Like I said, it was a fluke, I won't go near a sword for under $500 but I buy a $3 knife, my bad. But then I recieved my first spydie and all's well that ends well! On the up side there are two things:
1) I've got a couple of fancy letter openers lying around...
2) I'm picking up my new Native and Sharpmaker today!
Gotta run to my Spyderco dealer now,
Mac
