What is black coating on ATR blade?
Site says it's carbon nitride - is it Titanium Carbo Nitride Coating (TiCN) or carbon nitride thin film (CNx)?

There are several types of coatings that they use on knife blades. The newest one that I know of is called "Boron Carbide" and the company that has spearheaded that technology is "Bodycote" out of North Carolina. I have a fixed blade Temperance with that same coating. I don't really know exactly what that one is either.

Tazkristi recently posted that the black ATR uses Titanium Carbo Nitride Coating. :)
I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again.

I thought the black on the Spydercos was "petrified spider blood". No? I'm shocked! That's what my buddy told me it was.
