Re: Show your Mule
@FullScaler Scales made it across the border safe, they look great! Now I need to make some sheaths.

Re: Show your Mule
Love these. Ive gotta get better at making scales. Here's my two most recently used mules.
Right is MagnaMax with sanded 3D printed PETG scales. Left is a Pop's Pro Cut I made while waiting for the MagnaMax one to arrive. Scales are hand carved maple with sharpie (unsuccessful experiment)

I liked the color pattern that developed during heat treatment. I really want to make another and finish grind and polish everything before HT so I can use it with the same finish it has right out of heat treat. Only sharpening after.

Oh, I really like the sculpting on those scales. I've never held scales that use that sort of ridged pattern to see if I like the feel, but I always love the look.bartekkaniewski wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 2:44 pm[*]Magnamax Mule

They look awesome regardless of the stick you stuck on em'. Still think it looks like Walnut though...

Re: Show your Mule
I didn't pay attention to Mule Team knives until late in the game. None of mine wear handmade scales, so I just lumped them together. All are stainless, except K294. Two use Spyderco G-10 scales; three use Stoner CNC G-10 scales. All work brilliantly, and I'll take any of these over any other 3.5" fixies I've ever used. They fit my hands and are very comfortable, not to mention the highly useful blade design. My favorites (currently) are the MagnaMax Spyderedge and the K294.
