Using Google to Search Forums Disabled?

Hey @TazKristi + Team,

I regularly use Google to search the forums, since the built-in search feature is basically useless before the rate-limiting, and infuriating after.

Unfortunately, that hasn't been possible lately, and I suspect it's due to a change on the backend.

I bet this is an attempt to help fight bots but I have to say it basically makes the 20 years of history on the forum worthless. I get it, you've got some tough choices to make, but if there is a to restore this functionality (or significantly improve the built-in search function, which I doubt), I'd sure appreciate it.

You are correct, it's an unintentional consequence of blocking bots. We're not done yet - just know that we are working on it. Hang in there with us.
