Why "Forbidden"?

#1

Post by James Y »

For the past few days, I've had the experience of clicking to open certain threads here, especially on the General Discussion forum, and getting a "Forbidden, you don't have permission to access this resource" warning. It only just started happening maybe 3 or 4 days ago. Then sometimes it doesn't happen. Was there an upgrade to the forum's software? And how do I get this to not happen anymore?

I just logged out and back in and it fixed it. Session Cookies must have expired on the server. I thought it was my VPN. I'll let yall know if it happens again.

Thanks, Naperville. Sometimes it happens, and like you I go out and come back. It happens more often on some devices than others.

We haven't updated the forum software, but we did have to tighten up some security measures over the weekend. The forum was under another DDOS attack with thousands of connections. The attack seems to have subsided, and we're continuing to make adjustments.

Thank you for hanging in there with us!
