UKPK SALT SERRATED IN MAGNACUT !! (It's about time !! )

#1

Post by Nemo3000 »

Hello,

of course, I immediately wrote a review of this jewel—
a knife I’ve been waiting for since it first appeared in LC200N. And like all good things… (it was painfully scarce.)

Here is the link to my review:

Some pictures:

Really this is a folder I have been waiting for a looooooooong time.
It was so rare in its LC200N version (the old yellow one) I got refound from Ebay sellers !!
But here it is.
So sheeple friendly and so formidable !! (I need to edit my review with that tagline !! )

Thanks for the review. It is a real cutting machine! But for me, I would prefer the blue one in the picture above. ;-)

I wonder if they will offer the G10 salt UKPK in SE.

No doubt the design is awesome.

Is the jimping on the UKPK similar to the Manix lightweight? Or is it less sharp?

Thanks for sharing!

The serrations on the Magnacut version look to be slightly less aggressive than the ones on my LC200N version; and the plain edge portion at the tip on the MC version looks a little bit longer as well. It looks great.

The UKPK Salt has become one of my favorite knives over the years.

Thank you Jim.
Good to know.

The LC200N UKPK serrated was so scarce here I have never been unable to get one. Yellow or green.
Very happy with Magnacut !!

I don't think that the LC200N SE UKPK ever hit the market. I love the green and I've been pinin' for that one for years. I may have to break down and get the Magnacut.

The LC200N SE UKPK did hit the market. At least the yellow one did. This is mine (photo was taken in 2021).

Request for y’all: is it possible to see a side by side comparison of the choil on the UKPK and the manix lightweight? I’m not a huge choil guy but the UKPK choil looks larger.

Thanks for the reminder. I've been waiting for it in Green SE for so long that I had forgotten. I actually have a Yellow PE LC200N.

I just spent 15 days in western Australia with only a Manbug Salt SE in my pocket (by accident I might add). Coming back and opening the parcel containing my much anticipated UKPK Salt SE I was struck by the similarities between the two - both cut way bigger than their size, both disappear in your pocket until you need them, and both are laughably easy to sharpen with a CBN double stuff. My only reservation about the UKPK is that I worry I’ll damage where the pivot fits into the scales from using it too roughly. I’m not one to abuse my knives, but I can see myself taking this thing absolutely everywhere with me when I travel as it’s so pocketable and relatively non-threatening, which often lands me in situations where I find myself using a knife a bit harder than I planned (batoning kindling for an impromptu fire for example, or replacing my elderly grandmother’s carpet in her bathroom). Regardless, at the price I’m ok with doing whatever with it and replacing it if I spanner it too badly. I’d love to see a full salt liners black G10 version with that really cool texturing on the handle like the Shaman Salt!
