I have a few that I rarely carry but, none that I won't carry... and haven't. I have a Military 2 in 15V that I carry once in a while, a Rex 121 PM 2, a Rex 76 PM 2, a Maxamet PM 2 and Para 3 that get carried here and there. The rest are fair game. ;)

No safe queens here and never had any.

This is just me and I 100% respect different approaches and ways of enjoying Spydercos, but if I don't really carry and use and thus experience one, I just don't and can't keep it.
True also or even especially for more rare sprint runs and the like.

One thing that contributes to that:
To me every Spyderco just gets more beautiful with all kinds of signs of use - gives the knife "personality" and "a life".

To be completely honest and precise:
For quite some time I had a second VG10 Stretch 1 sitting in its box: Not as a true "safe queen", but as a backup should I loose my first one since the model is discontinued.
But these days not even that, "just" my first one in VG10 and one in HAP40 left, both get carried and used.
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

A safe queen is a knife that sits in a box or shelf, never to be used. I have one proper safe queen and that's the 40 year anniversary Native (I hope to add the 50th as a second safe queen 😃). Then these 2 Chaps that are works of art, which I carry occasionally, but light use only, so semi safe queens 😉

Was going to show a pic of my 40th, but I can't load the pic inline. No idea why.

I use all mine pretty regularly, except one. I don’t carry it as much as I should, feel a little guilty, but I basically don’t want to lose it since it’s special. The original Manix 2 G10 15V, a knife I was very excited about and a gift from my boys.
Endura AUS-8, Manix 2 S30V, Manix 2 LW MagnaCut, BBB 15V Manix 2, BBB 15V Para 3 LW, Alcyone BD1N, PM2 Micarta Cruwear, Native 5 Maxamet (2nd), Para 3 Maxamet (2nd), Magnacut Mule, Z-Wear Mule, REC Para 3 10V, Pacific Salt SE H2, Dragon Fly SE H2, Chaparral SE XHP, Shaman Burlap S90V, Bodacious SPY27, Manix 2 LW 15v, Sage 5 REX-121 LW.

That's a shame honestly. Those are some of the best, newer released steels that beg to used. It's not like they have some kind of fancy scales or were $500+ knives. Put those babies to use and learn a few things about these steels. That's like buying a Ferrari just to look at it in your garage!

Purged Queens years ago , if I own it the knife gets pocket time and used when I have a need to cut . Nothing wrong with those who have Queens , at my age I want to enjoy all my knives . MG2

No safe queens here, either. One of the lessons life has taught me is that it's all just "stuff" and no one else is going to care about your "stuff" when you're gone. So, enjoy it while you have the chance.

Guilty as charged. I have several. Cruwear Military and Caly 3 and 3.5 Superblue are at the top. Several more.

I keep using my Endura 4 ZDP-189 as my main carry and H1 Manbug for office and shorts.

I definitely have some I'd consider safe queens, and for all kinds of reasons. Rarity, collectibility, sentimental value, monetary value, etc...

Such as my collection of Sal Glesser and Eric Glesser engraved knives. :respect :bug-white-red
• Stretch 2 XL Cruwear/Grey G10
• Military 2 S30V Camo G10
• Para 3 Spy27
• Shaman LW
