Why I Prefer Endura

I end up with the Delica in pocket more often than not, but sometimes the Endura hits hard. One day I'll get my hands on one of those Cutlery Shoppe Hap40 orange zome exclusives.

Also always like pocket clips showing wear (and thus that the knife gets actually carried a lot) - adds "character and personality", just like to me any kind of wear makes a Spydie only look more beautiful..

Thanks, I feel the same way. I do prefer the black finish the Golden models have on their pocket clips, but I still love how my Seki models scratch up over the years.

I prefer the blockier thicker handle of the 110 in use . As I keep harping on .

BUT

I must also take the other side (how ever briefly) just to point out that the Endura gets one a knife that can be carried in pocket . These days that seems to take precedence over in hand performance . Heck I might have bought a BM Narrows if the poor little thing had a handle on it . Feels good in the pocket though (I've been told) .

some of my silly thick handle mods MUST be carried in a belt pouch , even if it is a third the weight of the original 110 , because mine tend to have so much textured rubber on it and blocks entry into my pocket .

Cannot beat that 110 blocky handle for actual work though .

The 110 does have a fantastically ergonomic handle, for sure. The 112 is too small for my baseball mitt hands, but it is really nice.

So.... I purchased the Endura 4 in K390 to see if I liked FRN scales. Turns out that I do. It was the first knife from Spyderco that I owned with the back lock. I purchased the Native 5 in 15V (because it will no longer be made... I have 4 in 15V, now) and I have come to find that I have become a very big fan of back locks. I have also become a huge fan of the Endura as an every day carry, work horse knife. I will purchase more enduras in different steels down the road.

Hard to believe now that I think about it, but my pocketknife journey began just about ten years ago. Eventually dipped my toe into Spyderco with a gray VG10 Delica which I still keep in my glove box. Got a Dragonfly eventually and really took to it once I started carrying it clipless and free in my pocket . Started the hunt for more blade length. I don't really know why, but I always dismissed the Endura. Tried a host of other models that I liked fine, but always something about each of them that I could criticize. Eventually took a lark on the HAP40 Endura. The one and to this day only model that made me smile the moment I got it in hand. Everything just clicked. Handle size and contour were a great match for me. My preferred blade to handle ratio, preferred lock for my wrong handedness, preferred thumb ramp height, preferred scale material and texturing, carries great. I eventually sprung for the M4 mint green, dyed the scales to a darker more forest green, and those two variants are now 85% of my larger knife carry. Endura and a Dragonfly free in the pocket are a great combination.

I have one or two more items on my to-do list (try some SPY27, maybe a Kapara?), but otherwise after 10 years and more knives that I'd care to list I've discovered my preference, and it's the Endura.

A DF dropped down in the pocket and an Endura are just about the perfect carry combo.

They actually do still have it!
You have to scroll down Bentoboxshops site quite a bit to find the burnt orange HAP40 Endura.

For me personally $ 125 is a steal for the imo best plain edge folder ever on this planet!

I also love the endura. It is my favorite seki city frn model and I have 3: zdp-189, hap 40, and k390
