Slow day off today, which is good to have once in a while. This M4 Native has been my "around the house" knife for several weeks now and the M4 in this knife is excellent steel.

Now that combo absolutely fits my preferences!
(Yes, if I only carry a tiny knife I'd definitely prefer the Chap over the Dfly... but if I had the great H1/H2 Pac Salt in my pocket already, I 'd also opt for the smaller and lighter Dfly over the Chap in case I'd want to bring a second folder).
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
My love for the Endela SE really did not start only with the K390 version... but long before with the good, old VG10 model, the knife that finally turned me into an SE-guy when it comes to EDC folders.
And today this trusty companion is in my pocket again.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I've got the Chaparral XL hand made prototype in my rotation and I'm likin' it. Peel ply CF, skeletonized full liners, 3.4" blade. Just to let you Chappy XL pushers
know that I do listen.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Sal, I (as an Chap XL pusher for more than seven years now...) am really excited to hear that... as you probably can imagine!!
... And 3.4 " blade in (hopefully) 2 mm stock?
This is exactly what I always envisioned for this model and "campaigned" for!
Thanks so much for listening indeed!!

3.4" length, 2 mm stock... in the amazing Chaparral platform... that´s just PERFECT and what I have been dreaming of for a long time now (and of course and obviously quite some others too)
Also perfect for actually testing out what an a bit longer ffg 2mm stock blade can take and how it will hold up in day to day all-kinds-of tasks EDC use. (Personally I have no doubt already that it will do just fine!)

I seem to always have a Dragonfly in a pocket and must admit the Chap SE is another I right pocket when I have a large PE in left pocket . DanWartstein wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 11:23 pmNow that combo absolutely fits my preferences!![]()

Wohooo Alright!!! Thank you Sal. This the best news all week!
Wartstein got me interested in the Chappies and I cant believe how well these perform it like I dont want to use anything else my serrated Bodacious is a close second and fits a different role.
That is a favorite combo of mine I love PeelPly CF as much as plain CF slabs and full liners are a Bonus, shoot sign me up right now, heck I'll even buy a prototype!!!
Please tell me that prototype is SE I have both SE and PE the SE is without a doubt my favorite I just bought a SE backup just in case.
Cant wait to buy the XL!!!
Really wanting to buy a 15V Serrated Bodacious. Well a guy can dream, can’t he?
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
OK too excited for the Chappie XL, now going to ask the impossible question to get it out of my system.......
Sal when do you think these might be available to purchase? 1 year, 2 years?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Sounds pretty cool! I find that there are some heavy duty tasks that I don't wish to push on a thin, slicey blade, but for delicate work, or when it absolutely, positively has to cut, nothing beats a thin slicey blade like this. Knives were meant, first and foremost, to cut.
