Where do you guys purchase second hand knives? I've only used Blade Binge. What others are out there?

Re: Where to purchase second hand?
I've bought and sold more than $15,000 in new in box knives from Arizona Custom Knives over the years.
Overall, I've never made a cent. I'm probably in the hole 10% to 20%, but if you want to buy a knife and see what it is all about, I recommend it.

I registered on Arizona Custom Knives. Searched for a while............... those people really like their knives...lol. I realise prices have gone up but, wow! Too pricey for me!
Re: Where to purchase second hand?
It's basically a Dutch auction, the price goes down until someone buys it. Also, something people don't realize is you can email the store with an offer and they'll communicate it to the seller.silver & black wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 6:12 pmI registered on Arizona Custom Knives. Re: Where to purchase second hand?
I'll vouch for arizona custom knives too.
As others mentioned, prices drop once a week or so until an item sells in many cases, and you can send offers.
I've bought knives for $200 that were initially listed as $400.
Their prices may be a bit high sometimes, but they are the most trust worthy source for discontinued knives IMO. If there is ever any problem they will not hesitate to promptly make it right.

Re: Where to purchase second hand?
I buy on Marktplaats (Marketplace) but that's mainly for NL and some BE folks that buy/sell. Be very careful, the number of complaints i sent because I spotted fakes is in the double digits. Besides that I buy from folks that I know from a Dutch forum or are sellers with a good reputation. I stay away from Facebook buy/sell.

I do most of my buying and selling on reddit.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Knife_Swap/
I have only ever had one deal go sour on reddit and it only happened because I overlooked one of the rules that would have kept me safe (always make sure they post a comment on your post if they send an offer in the chat and check their flair for number of past transactions.) people know they can trust me pretty well over there because my account is old and I have over fifty transactions in the group.
I have also had good success with the folks over at the Millie club on facebook. Good people and they root out scammers very fast.

I have bought a number of knives in that facebook group with no problems.

Re: Where to purchase second hand?
I purchase mine second-hand from AZCK, the Blade Forums Exchange, and from reputable sellers on eBay (which are out there if you do your research). I enjoy tracking down good deals on these sites (although the FOMO is real) but the hunt for rarer ones you might be looking for might take you years. I was on the lookout for a PE SS Calypso Jr. in new condition for example that took over a decade to track down (and sadly I think it’s the Deacon’s one so I’m not keen on how it came to market). Folks on this forum can also be great for providing tips on finding certain models.

Ebay - you must be very careful and do your due diligence. Fakes and scammers abound, but there are good deals to be found from time to time.
Blade Binge - Prices tend to be on the higher side, really good deals get gone fast. But they do a really good job of keep fakes and scammers off. Buy with confidence.
Blade Forums exchange - a relatively small community. Lots of good deals but they go fast. Scammers are quickly vetted and exposed. Follow the rules and suggestions in the forum sticky and you'll be fine.
Reddit Knife Swap - the best deals, but moves so fast it can make your head spin. Scammers are vetted and exposed quickly. Again, follow the rules and suggestions in the sticky and you wont have any problems

If I buy or sell used I pretty much exclusively use the Austrian equivalent of your "Marktplaats". It´s called "Willhaben.at" and the subcategory there for placing and finding Spydercos is called literally "Marktplatz" (sounds really close to the Dutch and English terms).
Not too many offers there though and selling can be a slow process too, but I am not aware of any other good option (I have generally never been on Facebook or similar platforms).
Perhaps in Germany (neighbor country to Austria) one could try "ebay Kleinanzeigen" (something like "ebay small ad" in English).

Re: Where to purchase second hand?
Doing a follow-up post to my previous post (#15) about this Rubicon at the antique mall. It is a fake Chinese Rubicon.
I did some online research into the fake copies and this is one of them. In a 10 year old video on YouTube I compared the picture of this one in the antique shop to real ones. The seller has a fake one for sale. I'm not saying the seller knows this is fake, but I'm going to run by the antique mall today and talk to the manager about this.
Re: Where to purchase second hand?
I got a Hinderer from Arizona Custom Knives, after getting scammed twice on two others. I know for sure I could've got it cheaper from a Facebook group but I'm just so tired of crappy people that I'll pay a few bucks extra for peace of mind. They answered my questions prior to the sale and the knife came exactly as they described it. I have quite a few that I've considered selling but for the same reasons I just don't have the energy to bother.
