Very interesting about those healthier regions.
Interesting note: Loma Linda University folks pioneered the production of plant based meat substitutes, like soy hotdogs.
I know people who are convinced soy is toxic to humans.
Do you think Okinawans eat much sushi and fry chicken? I love both.

Soy is just soybean curd. I am not an expert or a huge fan of soy but it is very very cheap and when I was struggling to survive I ate quite a bit of it fried and then put A1 sauce on it to get it down.SpyderEdgeForever wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 1:09 amVery interesting about those healthier regions.

I do not like the texture or raw soy. Kind of makes me want to gag, that is why I put it in a pan, fried it and smothered it in A1 sauce, hahahahaha. I had a close acquaintance from Vietnam that ate a block of soy for dinner every night when I worked as a network analyst in Silicon Valley. Yuckooooos.
You will be shocked at what you will eat if you are absolutely B.R.O.K.E. I was eating soy sold in Chinatown that was beyond it's best buy date. Really poor people know how to survive, but I do not want to go back to those days. It did not kill me. I did not become ill. But no thank you, I'll skip it.
My cooking habits with soy notwithstanding, I think fried foods are some of the worst foods that you can eat.
