Naperville and Jim and Doc and sal and shunsui and all:

What do you say to those folks who have said the USA is on the decline because of both economic, spiritual, educational, lack of huge manufacturing
(Even though there are still companies like Spyderco, Buck, small batch new steel, plastics, food etc factories) , but,
AI robots will "scientifically magically" reverse that decline and invigorate the nation and the world and give us a paradise?

The pessimists say AI will devour us.

I don't know if the entire US is on the decline. It isn't all bad.

The global and US political landscape is pretty bad. I do not like what I see in some necks of the woods. The war is bad, and nukes are bad, so what do we do as a global community? I hope that there are not 20 million more refugees headed to the EU.

I will say we are a far cry from society that existed in the mid 70's to the mid 80's though. Change always happens. One thing that changed massively over the last 40 years has been tattoos, piercings, and women wearing very revealing tops and pants. In the 70's people wore very tight fitting jeans, but the new yoga pants craze out does all of that. And women's tops!? There were other time periods where women revealed their bodies, I'm just not used to it. But anything that you wanted to see you always could go to a beach.

It's just my opinion, AI is going to create a lot of problems. They say robots/robotics will take off in 2 to 3 years and I think there was an article on CNBC within the last 5 days regarding that. I read the CNBC Technology web portal every day.

If AI replaces 40% of the workforce over the next 5 years, it most certainly will not create the number of jobs that it replaces. What will those people do to survive?

Manufacturing may make a small comeback. It may be additive manufacturing(3D Printing) and robotics influenced. The number of people involved may not be what it was in the 40's through the 60's.

Economic decline of the US? I think crypto may be a huge waste of your hard earned income. It's one heck of a gamble. If they quit adding to the US debt and keep inflation in check the US dollar may be around for a while, and if not, I am not sure what will happen. I think they will screw up, keep adding to the US debt, and the US dollar will collapse. It's just a matter of time.

Nah, they'll probably herd us into camps where they do DNA experiments to see if they can create a "human" they can place an Artificial Super Intelligence into. They would then proceed to procreate like bunnies, due to all the porn they read while training on the Internet.

Scary thought but I could see that attempted.

An IBM engineer told me his long term dream is to upliad his conscious thoughts into some type of molecular or quantum computer that allows him to be immortal.

Some new metals and alloys AI and human engineers may be able to build?

1 Duranium.

This metallic super alloy is constructed by taking iron, cobalt, chromium, and vanadium, nitrogen and carbon, and compressing their atoms within an intense quantum electrostatic field.

Current 2026 engineering cannot now (at least in the open literature) generate such a field.

This Forced Matrix Field causes the inner valence electron clouds to lock together, making the bond strength higher, to rival that of diamond.

2 Tritanium, also called Tri Titanium.

This titanium based alloy is made by mixing titanium with carbon in such a way where the atomic structure is arranged tetrahedrally, like diamond. To strengthen it further, the quark particles are expanded through the currently unknown (2026) process of Hadronic Expansion.

In this process, the normally bound gluons of the Strong Nuclear Force are slightly weakened, expanded over the atomic crystalline structure and then locked back into place.

This results in an extremely super strong alloy that is also very heat resistant.

3 Hyper Diamond:

This is Aggregated Diamond Nano Rods. These have been experimentally verified and produced.
The more advanced version involves using the above mentioned Hadronic Expansion Method to strengthen the covalent carbon structure even further.

4 Transparent Titanium

This is a titanium or even trititanium metal that is treated by a heretefore unknown process by which the atoms are altered so that the electromagnetic light is passed through rather than absorbed or scattered as in opaque materials.

"Transparency is caused by a material's atomic structure not absorbing or scattering visible light, allowing photons to pass through, as seen in glass. Opacity occurs when materials absorb or reflect light, often due to free electrons in metals or high-density molecular structures that block light transmission. "

Oracle in a heap of trouble after overextending itself in AI investments (and the bubble hasn't even popped)!

The tech powerhouse may slash 20,000 to 30,000 positions, possibly cutting 12–18% of its global workforce of roughly 162,000 employees, tech magazine CIO reported.

The layoffs could be implemented as early as March 2026, Bloomberg reported.
