Great to hear!silver & black wrote: ↑Mon Feb 23, 2026 5:31 pmSo.... I have carried only my Endura for the last week+. I have to say, I love this knife... and the FRN scales. It took a bit of learning with the back lock, but I have figured out how to operate it one handed. I will definitely be purchasing more Seki knives in the future. I'm on the "inform me" list at Cutlery Shoppe for the K390 Endela when it's re-stocked.
Seki backlocks plus FRN opens up the world of the to me personally best down-to-earth user-Spydies there are !
Really hard to beat an Endura for a true "do it all" folder imo!

EDIT TO REASSURE : fear not , the image is of a Spyder Edge on the Plain edge page but if you read the description IT IS A PLAIN EDGE . Can be verified by the part number ; compare those or contact the vendor . I've experienced this goofyness more than once.
FPK is plain edge .![]()

Not a fan of plastic at all and have a very strong aversion to fiberglass in any form. i do like micarta, but only on fixed blades. Generally, i want metal scales.

I find that I enjoy all these materials when done right.
Feels like asking if you like sweet, sour, salty, bitter or umami foods. I sure have a sweet tooth and its harder to mess up something with sugar in it but I wouldn't want to live I a world where sweet is the only option.
That being said, I almost always enjoy titanium and any "high tech" materials like carbon fiber or ultem.
Any fiber reinforced resin (g10, micarta or even frn) feels fine and is hard to mess up, but im rarely wowed those

Re: What Type of Scales Do You Prefer Poll
My access to this site went down again last night about when I was working on this .
Been trying off and on all day to get back on ; I could always get to the online store front but that link would not take me here.
Until now .
Finally !
I can continue my madness .
This time with my K390 Endura . A test case for my inbound K390 Endela Warncliiffe (blade mod to come in future posts)(and most likely this handle mod if I can get it to go the way I imagine it can)
I apologize for the sucky images ; been trying to capture the blue in the patina and this dim light is the only way I've found . In indirect North window light I can see the blue the best but my basic camera will not capture it . Guy at work with cool guy smart phone also could not do it .
sorry , sorry . . .
PS : Note the blue patina on the blade . It is MUCH more vibrant and visible in person . The shapes are hard edged and geometric . I'm pretty happy with the patina ! That has been on this knife for years now.
Probably not durable but hey ; quickly fixable with the glue gun .
Nah ; I'll take the grip film all the way back . Glad I did this test / will need two applications / layers of glue to get the amount of fill volume I want .
Anyway ; ugly but I seem to like it other wise. Can't see it when I'm using it .

The hot glue showing on the one side, past the grip pad toward the rear of the handle, was intentional to see how it feels and holds up with use .With other knives I love to use I have gone so far as to add heat to stick gun grip films . I love this stuff !
See : just an oval dot gets it done.
Covering the sides of the entire handle is even better .
So ; I'm thinking an oval dot on the pad for the pocket clip at the pivot .
Problem is , if I start doing it I swear I am going to fill in the FRN pattern with hot glue and once cured . . .
gun grip the entire both sides of the handle .
