Re: New PM2 FRN
Is the feel of the PM2 FRN similar to the Seki City FRN, or more like the Manix FRCP?
Re: New PM2 FRN
I say in the middle. Something about Seki seems a bit more grippy and refined to me for some reason compared to Golden FRN (I have the Lil Native LW in hand right now) Nothing feels as cheap as FRCP. Manix LW was my first ever Spyderco and I'm glad I didn't put off the brand based on that experience alone! I just can't get on board with FRCP. Throw an "A" in the mix and do a word jumble and that's what I think of itRoad Tripper wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:55 amIs the feel of the PM2 FRN similar to the Seki City FRN, or more like the Manix FRCP?

I saw a pic you posted in this main forum of what looked like a Military with FRN scales. Do you recall the pic?TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:58 amI say in the middle. Re: New PM2 FRN
Admittedly, I don't know much about the FRN knives. Do all FRN knives only have one washer, other than the new PM 2 LW? If so, what is on the other side of the blade?
Re: New PM2 FRN
I don't think so. The native chief lightweight has two washers, while the stretch 2 xl lw has none. Depends on the model

Re: New PM2 FRN
It varies from model to model. The Para 3 has one washer. The Native 5 LW has no washers (as well as I think all of the Seki City salt models). Manix 2 LW has 2 washers. On models with no washers, the blade contacts a raised portion of the handle material. The non washer side of the Para 3 contacts the handle material in the same way.silver & black wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 5:12 amAdmittedly, I don't know much about the FRN knives. Re: New PM2 FRN
I've been waiting for the PM2 LW ever since Sal said Eric's working on it a long time ago. I actually kind of like BD1N and don't even mind the black handle but I'll probably wait until some other flavor come out. I'm no longer buying several versions of the same knife. So I need to make it a good one

I always tightened up the pivot screw on the PM2 so it wasn’t drop shut. I don’t like blades that fly around easily. I’m considering getting the BD1N version even though the 15V is coming. I’d be happy with the lesser steel. I loved the idea of the Para3 lightweight but it was too small feeling for me. I loved the size of the PM2. I know what you mean. I also prefer the Seki FRN, with Golden FRN just behind, and FRCP last. The Golden FRN feels harder and stiffer, as though it has a higher glass fiber loading. The Seki FRN is “softer” and just feels good in the hand.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:58 amI say in the middle. I think you will really like it. It will also end up being a joyous platform for an innumerable amount of exclusives (I’m hoping for K390).RugerNurse wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 10:26 amI always tightened up the pivot screw on the PM2 so it wasn’t drop shut. Received mine today in the mail. It feels completely different from the OG scale wise. Great contours and feel. I really like it. It’s a real winner! Great job Spyderco!
Like the construction as well. Nicely thought through.

Re: New PM2 FRN
This is exactly what happened in the EU: the lightweight and g10 models are essentially the same price - both well above 200 eur retail. I know spyderco doesn't control import tariffs and the retail price model in the EU is a bit different from the US, but i can't imagine the PM2 lightweight selling well if there's no price difference.Red Leader wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 1:20 pm
If they re-released the G10 version and the FRN version at the same time and they were the same price, I imagine that most would want the G10.

Re: New PM2 FRN
Can anyone confirm if the new PM2 LW is any more solid or rigid than the PM3 LW? From the marketing material and SHOT Show videos it looks a bit more beefed up, but it’s hard to tell.

I'm with you on the FRCP. I have the Manix 2 15V LW. The FRCP is just very cheap feeling. Not what I expected for what I paid.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:58 amI say in the middle. I received my Endura 4 K390 today with FRN. It seems light years better than FRCP. I will definitely purchase more knives with FRN. This is Seki FRN which I'm told is different from Golden FRN???

Re: New PM2 FRN
I handled these at shot show and liked it way more than I expected. It's pretty great.
I didn't expect to like it, but After handling the BD1N and 15V examples, I am a big fan.
I don't remember feeling flex, but wasn't specifically looking for it.
Considering the success of the PM3 this will be an immediate top seller for them I assume
