What’s your handiest Spyderco?
What’s your handiest Spyderco?
Mine is easily my serrated Lil’ Native back lock.
Every morning I stick a larger knife in my pocket, think Manix 2 or larger. When I get home from work, change clothes and put on either shorts or warmups, I grab my Lil’ Native and drop it in my pocket. I grill usually four, sometimes five times a week. It’s just my handy little grill and do all knife every night, and it’s a solid little fella too!

I sort through the Manix 2, PM 2 and Para 3 throughout the week.
Re: What’s your handiest Spyderco?
It used to be some variant of the Dragonfly, but now it's the Lil' Native LW carried clipless.

By far it is the PM2 Salt. However, I completely get the Lil Native votes.
I have a feeling that a combo edge Magnamax PM2 LW would beat my current.

Delica. Wharnie for utility work. K390 for big jobs. LC200N for wet jobs. It can come with teeth. You’ve got sprints and exclusives for collectors. There are plenty of aftermarket parts for modders. Soon (I hope), we will get some high performance variants. What can’t it do?

I agree 100%. The Delica K390 for the tough jobs and the Delica Sprint Run in PD#1 if I want to show off how sharp a knife can be. However, my Ladybug in K390 is also getting its fair share of the action.p_atrick wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 8:50 amDelica. Wharnie for utility work. K390 for big jobs. LC200N for wet jobs. The Native for sure. Small and light enough to EDC year-around, yet robust to be used without fear. Perfect ergos, extremely easy to disassemble and clean, ambidextrous and handsome too.

I bought four more since this photo was taken.

I think I'd have to say, whatever knife is in my pocket at that time! It would be easier to figure out which knife is the LEAST handiest

Think I’m gonna try and find a serrated Green LC200 Native Salt, looks very useful for me!
Nice lineup you’ve got there!
Re: What’s your handiest Spyderco?
That one is a real workhorse. It will cut and cut until the edge is all gone and then it will be real easy to resharpen. And it's such a tough steel, the teeth will bend rather than break and they can be straightened easily. Just indestructible.

The one in my pocket that day.

Yeah pretty much this.
I rarely buy knives that AREN'T handy, that's one of the basic buying criteria. In recent years I've loosened up and have bought some that have features that I'd normally avoid, but none of them are inconvenient or a hassle to use. You could say in general I'm attracted to designs are are user friendly, form following function.

Re: What’s your handiest Spyderco?
I always have either a DFly2 K390 or a Lil' Native Wharnie set up for left hand carry in my left front pocket. If my main knife is a regular Native 5 it does most of the work in any given day, but if my main blade is a PM2 or one of similar or larger length I find that the little big knife catches most of the duty.
Most daily EDC jobs are best served by a little gal, but I always have a PM2 or such as my main blade at home, and a PARA3 or Native 5 when away.

Re: What’s your handiest Spyderco?
Definitely my Manix2XL Salty... the thing draws great from the pocket, these bidirectional scales provide a superior grip. Very easy one hand open and close. The MagnaCut steel hones out like a razor at 15 dps.
No matter what I have to cut, I got a paw-ful of knife that will most certainly get it done. Not going to slip in my paw, regardless of how hard I have to use it either, like all my little munchkins squirm around as I try to find the handle to hang on them.
Yet if I have a little finesse work, the finger and thumb choils, you can choke up on the blade and get right close and shave the hide off something.
