I've been holding off buying for awhile, but I've got quite a bit incoming right now.

First, I got a UKPK in Magnacut in today; I ordered an LC200N version and was sent the Magnacut version instead -- I'm still waiting to hear back on the return for that.

Second, I've got a Bodacious coming in on loan from a friend -- I'm really excited to check that one out.

Third, I've got a SpydieChef CQI (particularly excited to get this one back again) and a Manix 2 LW in CTS-BD1N coming in, though the Manix is mainly for parts.

On the non-Spyderco front, I've got a Fox Kita coming in as well.

For four or five years I limited my purchases to only two new knives per year, but this year I am buying a few extra with CPM steels. Last month I bought a 15V Native, and now a Maxamet Native is in the mail. It's also amazing that i only have the safe queen fluted Ti Millie in S30V and nothing else. I want a user. :cheap-sunglasses

I have just heard that I will be getting a Sage 5 Lightweight in Maxamet for my birthday and that it is already in the mail! I am super-excited for this one - not only will it be my first Spyderco of 2026, but it will also be my first experience with a Compression lock as well as with Maxamet. Various rumours about the doubtful availability of Maxamet in the future means that I must have dropped enough hints to my lovely wife that my next knife should be this one!

I'm going to get the Sage 6 in S90V when I can. I keep ordering knives in 15V because I know they will be no more.

It makes a lot of sense. I know for a fact that I am not going to get 15V in China from my Spyderco dealers (you guys are buying it all :winking-tongue ; that's why I'm picking up the Sage 5 in Maxamet.

Technically no longer in the mail, these arrived last weekend. They're part of my crazy 2025 splurge, in which I kick-started a Spyderco collection that will still be trickling in all throughout 2026.

Image

Most of these are from the keithkevinken final sale.
  • Para 3 LW - opportunity acquisition, has his CC no. Actually my first Para 3 and yeah, I now get it. Very much for the hands rather than the eyes!
  • Efficient - nice green scales and again the CC no. One of my few budget folder acquisitions, but man, the Efficient is so well built and so well designed - no wonder, knowing it's actually an Eric and Ed Schempp collab!
  • Balance - I'm glad I picked up this first ed. Balance. Last year's sprint runt would have broken the bank... Many knives seem bigger than they are; with my huge hands, the Balance seems even smaller than it is...
  • Calypso Jr. - yeah, this one's a lot less pretty than the OG Calypso PE that I have, but it completes the set of the Caly/pso family for me.
  • BlackHawk - suuuuper glad I got this one. The Native is one of my favorites, and the BlackHawk is its daddy. This is the 2002 re-release, which has such a weird backstory, and I love it to bits!
  • Barong - I joined this forum just to ask about a potential re-release of this one. When Sal stated it wouldn't happen, I ended up paying big to get one of these (this one wasn't part of Kevin's collection). "Never meet your heroes" was never more wrong than here - it is everything I hoped for and more. It is perfection and I'd love to get into that a bit. Is it okay to resurrect an old Barong thread to do so?
  • SpyderCard - this one was an unexpected surprise. I'm proud to now have one, I think its origin story is as moving as the design itself is weird. RIP Eduard Bradichansky.
  • PITS - the other non-Kevin knife here. I got this one for a very reasonable price; I suspect this was because the slight snail trails looked like severe scratches on the seller's photos. I saw it as the only chance to get this high-end folder at a price reasonable enough to make it a user here in Germany. I still intend to, but man, it feels like a million bucks in pocket. :smiling-heart-eyes Oh, and this is the opposite of the Balance - it feels very big in hand, compared to basically all the other Slipits.
  • Kiwi 3 - yeah, okay, this one should be a footnote. It was cheap, but really? The rub is, they are so damned hard to find these days. I'd love it if this returned to production, it should be an always-replacable user. It's a great pen knife for office environments. The way it is right now, it'll probably join my display pieces rather than the EDC ones.
Sorry about the spam. This forum is the main place where I can share my still-recent passion...

What with the Spydercard and the Schempp knive, clearly, a man of great taste! ;) (As are all the others buying the Retract.)
