Nice to hear. I read a comment on YouTube that it was stuff action and the compression lock prevented it from closing or something weird. Can’t always trust the trolls in the comments.
What I noticed about the PM2 LW that was specifically different than the regular G10 PM2s is that when depressing the lockbar, it barely (if even) moved the detent ball off the blade. There is just not the same clearance as there is with the G10/steel liner versions. So if you really muscle pinch the compression lock open, you might be able to get that ball off the blade, but because of that, the ball drags on the blade throughout the closing, so it doesn't (at least at first) have the immediate drop shut action that a lot of PM2s have.
I don't consider this a bad thing.
To me, the knife felt very controlled. When I got my first PM2 (Salt G10 bumblebee), I had a hard time 'timing' the lock and close, and would frequently get blade bounceback. Now, I am more used to it and it is not so bad. However, this doesn't seem like it is as prevalent with the PM2 LW. Also, my Para 3 LW feels very similar - it is like the closing action is more controlled. It seemed like it took a long time, but my Para 3 LW now has a smooth action and now has a free moving blade when the lock is totally depressed. I imagine this will be even more the case with the PM2 LW since it has the two washers. On the version I had at the SFO, I played w/ the knife for over 1/2 hour and it was actually smoothing up noticeably when I was done with it.
In short, the knife doesn't feel as 'glidey' or 'drop shut' as a regular PM2, but the action feels more controllable. I like both.
