I have never understood the explanation that Kahr isn’t interested but Spyderco can’t make the model. If Kahr is out and the margins weren’t good that understandable, but shouldn’t keep Spyderco from making more of this model without Kahr on the blade. It was Janich’s design anyway

Re: Sub 2.5" options?
eBay has a “lightly used and carried” Kahr available right now, for a mere $229.99.
It is the blue one, which I like slightly better than the khaki.

Just go slow and don't overheat, or you'll ruin the heat treatment.

Curious why you call a JanDelica Custom the "next best thing" to the Kahr Arms Delica? With the latter, I'm stuck with a Kahr Arms logo on my knife (don't own a Kahr Arms handgun, not interested in one). But with the JanDelica, I get a knife fully customized by Michael Janich, his own sig on the blade, and a certificate of authenticity. All for a LOT less than I could find a Kahr Arms version. Seems like a win-win to me, and very much the better of the two options.p_atrick wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:20 pmRegarding the Spyderco Kahr Arms Delica4, this is the next best thing. Delicas...only Delicas
Re: Sub 2.5" options?
I guess my assumption is that somebody had their sights on a Kahr Arms Delica, but was having trouble finding one. I would rather have the FFG JanDelica myself. Again, very happy with my JanDelica. I can't see myself getting a Lil' Native or something like that. I just like the Delica handle too much.

I won't fight you.. especially if it has teeth
"Unfortunately" (in this particular case ) though the blade is actually 2.8" long as far as I recall...
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Re: Sub 2.5" options?
The Kahr color options were great. Bumping again to say Kahr has the right of refusal and sounds like they have refused, Spyderco should be able to pick up the model and continue production IMOFrankSD wrote: ↑Fri Jan 23, 2026 8:43 amCurious why you call a JanDelica Custom the "next best thing" to the Kahr Arms Delica? Re: Sub 2.5" options?
I am a big fan of the Lil’Native and both lock versions can be had in 15v blade steel.
Re: Sub 2.5" options?
I wasn't going to even look into this thread ; I mean I was sure you would get LOTS of great recommendations with out me .
Today I decided to see what little , sweet bobbles were on offer .
THEN !
I saw
I think I see "The Spyder-Signal" shining in the sky . I must lend a hand . Come Robin ! To the Bat-Bicycles !
To your question , that portion of your question , I say :
Any knife you want . ESPECIALLY the PM3 !
All of the shorter Triangle ish shaped blades in this photo are under that spec.
Just takes a Dremel , a cut off wheel and a very wet old sock ( oh and a vise with soft jaws helps a lot ) :
see my next post . . .

OH !Maybe something with a larger handle relative to the short blade? Anything have a PM3 or larger handle with a sub 2.5" blade?

Re: Sub 2.5" options?
almost forgot the disclaimer :
Again let me warn anyone duplicating this mod : that blade shape tends to wave part way open even when you don't want it to so BE VERY CAREFUL .
The less of a sharp corner you put at the base of the Spydie hole the better ; maybe round that whole area in profile so it is a convex line from spine of blade up and over the opening hole .
Takes practice and concentration until you learn not to wave it open by accident while just unloaging your pockets at the end of the day .
At the very least carry the knife in a largish slip with no pocket clip ; I do that with some tiny fixed blades such as the Cold Steel Pendleton Mini Hunter 3-Inch 3V blade . SUPER KNIFE ! suckie edge dulling sheath ; I use a leather pocket slip made for fixed blades this size .
