I dropped it in Ed's lap. I couldn't make it work, but Ed's quite the genius when it comes to the Ethnic series models. Check out his Kris. Brilliant.

I really love the Schempp Rock I got a few months ago now. It's an awesome design. I have since checked out his others and he is a very special designer.

Sal,

Out of curiosity do you know where the name Kris came from? Seems an odd name for a knife.

My grandfather had a Kris out of Indonesia so I recognized it immediately. Below link is the Wikipedia article about the Kris.

No I don’t have a 250. I do have a 226 and a 365. It was exactly my point that knives not just Spyderco are approaching gun prices. I have a Drunken purchased at Spyderco I have had a Paysan. Both beautiful near perfect knives the Drunken is my favorite Spyderco. I purchased a para3 lw magnacut last year and that may be my last knife purchase.

Seems like the CRKT Ritual is close to what a folding scimitar would look like.

I own several of the ethnic series line that were designed by Ed and they are all superb in design and quality. Ed is a brilliant interpreter of blades.

Thank you, sal and others.
I especially like how Ed's Kris design has the distinct wave to it but is still straight and wide enough for practical cutting.

I once saw a custom made kris that was so overly wavy that it would be nearly impossible to use for practical cutting.
