The profile of the Wharncliffe tip is thicker than a standard PM2, similar to the width of a Manix 2. The grips while "funky" are surprisingly tactile and grippy. Overall, Spyderco did a fantastic job. Hopefully, a similar version will become standardized.

For goodness’s sakes! Are they EVER going to make a G10 Native 5 in the CS configuration!!! Good lord, let’s make a few more Military-family variants, we certainly need those! (Sorry, venting…)

I received my PM2 standard blade today. The scales are definitely different, in a good way. The blade is most definitely sharp... the whole blade. Unfortunately, it does have lock stick. I don't really care that much, as a few of my others had it and it worked out in use. I'm sure this will too. Now I have to get a Lynch clip for it.
My PM2 Droppoint came in and is sharp over the whole blade a friend of mine received a Wharncliffe version it does not have the Dullness starting at the choil and going forwward.
I guess it went the right person I have the tools to fix it.
Question does anyone know if fingernail polish will patina REX-121 or other tool steels? I usually coat the flats when sharpening to prevent diamonds from scratching the flats.
Will Acetone patina tool steel?
Those who are wise sharpen their steel to it's chemistry not their beliefs. "BeggarSo"
The lock stick on my knife is noticeably worse than any other knife I have had. I know I said I didn't care that much, but it is really bad. It makes a loud click when unlocking the blade. It seems to be getting worse. This is disappointing after really wanting this release. Can one of you experienced Spyderco guys advise me on how to fix this?

Try loosening the two T8 torx screws that hold the stop pin, then rotate the stop pin 45*, tighten down the screws (snug, not super tight), then try locking and unlocking the blade several times. Repeat as necessary.
It also can help to put a tiny drop of lube oil in the slot on the tang that the lock bar engages.
