Most important to me here is for whom this knife in my humble opinion definitely IS meant:
You and me and the many more inside and outside this forum with a true passion for Spyderco, in whatever individual and personal way it might be.

And so I really hope that proportionally many of us will manage to get one instead of flippers or generally folks with no real appreciation for Spyderco.

/ Anyway: Does anybody have a guess when we can expect to see more details of this special knife?
Will it be in one of the next Reveals?
Or get announced separately?

...So if I get you right: You will also be one of those who´ll actually enjoy carrying and using the anniversary Native, but at least paired with a second knife so you can spare the Native from "rough"tasks?
Yes sir.
Quite clever "in between [..safequeen and real hard use..] approach" ;)

Going to pass on this one. Do not like its orange handle and it will cost way to much to not be 100% my cup of tea. I do hope Spyderco gives us something else to celebrate like changing the Sticker in every Spydie box to a 50th anniversary sticker or something like that.

@Wartstein Thank you for agreeing with me and reiterating what I said.

It will be announced in one of the Reveal catalogs this year. Based on past years, we should be seeing a new reveal catalog coming very soon but I'd be surprised if we see this one announced already. Probably coming later this year.

You are welcome! And if what I said is reiterating what you said I am glad that we can agree on that what counts here is the passion for Spyderco in various ways, and not irrelevant things like if one plans on carrying and/or using this thing or not. :clinking-mugs

Thanks also for the assessment when we might really see this knife! Can´t wait, been into Spyderco folders (but that exclusively) for "only" about eight years so for me this will be the first real anniversary and anniversary knife!

Maybe 50 bug stickers in every box to celebrate 50 years.

As a Spyderco aficionado and Native 5 hooligan, this knife offering feels awfully targeted.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I'm probably one of the few on this forum that never had a Native, so I think I need to get and use one, then get and not use the Anniversary Native. I agree with Nick that this is one Spyderco meant more for collecting than cutting. I'd understand using it though if anyone is inclined to do so.

In my book if all I do is look at it I better sell it. I often leave knives on my desk just to look at them between uses, so I get part of that.

Lol true story a coworker played with my knife when I wasn't looking and told me later Dang that's sharp I cut myself.

I laughed and said shhh, hidden security feature, it bites all but the owner.

Theres been more than once that I've handed a knife to someone to use, and they run their thumb along the blade to test how sharp it is ........................!?!?........................its mind boggling

I guess thats ok if you're used to carrying a sod buster that hasn't been sharpened since the Reagan administration. But my knives are ***SHARP****.
