I still haven't gotten out in the woods with it, but I am getting used to the heft by carrying it. In the outseam pocket of Carhartt or similar work pants I find the weight to be not very noticeable.

It has also made my heaviest Spyderco knives feel light and nimble by comparison.

The blade came very sharp and I will wait to thin the edge until I have used it some more. I honestly haven't cut much with it yet.

Funny that you bring up the Voyager. Even though I have barely gotten familiar with the 4Max I became immensely curious if the 4Max was in a weird nether region of size? Would I like an even longer or bigger folding knife? To test my curiosity, last night I ordered a 5.5 inch clip point Voyager AND a Rajah 2. We'll see how I feel after comparing and contrasting all 3.

I do really like the older Voyager handle, but not sure I will pay collector prices for a vintage one.

Thanks for asking. More updates as we go.

My two latest 'others' with my CruCarta Shaman for scale.

How are your first impressions?

I know when I got mine I considered it too heavy and unwieldy to want to EDC, but it certainly grew on me over the years.

My OD green 4 Max is the only knife I've carried so far this year. Though I did touch up a 4" japanese tanto voyager tonight. Bought it a couple years ago and never carried it....plan to change that soon.

Saturday at the Hickory, NC gun show I picked up this fixed blade in ProCut and Walnut. Went with one of my coworkers, we haven’t even made it inside and he said you finally gonna buy a knife from that man and his kid?

There’s an older gentleman and his 20 something year old son, probably been talking to them for 5 or 6 years at this same show, seriously two of the nicest human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to!

Several times I’ve had one of their fixed blades in my hand that I thought I was gonna buy, but just never did….well Saturday when we made our way to their table this knife just stood out to me, I asked him about it and he said it was in a new steel they’re using, ProCut. He said they’re running it at 1500 degrees and ending up with a Rockwell of 60/61. These guys are COUNTRY, the son said this steel is from that doctor fella that invented MagnumCut! 😆 He said they had a neighbor that dressed 5 or 6 deer with a ProCut knife they made him before he touched it up.

OAL 7 3/8” with a 3” blade, it’s somewhat crude but feels amazing in hand, and I got it screaming sharp but it wasn’t that easy, it feels super hard!

It was $70.00, didn’t really need it but wanted to buy it from this man and his son, sometimes you just want to spend money with really nice people and hope it helps, I’m gonna enjoy this knife!

I've been carrying the Kansept Kryo for the last few days. A thick bladed tough knife that I don't worry too much about...or need to...lol.

I have been carrying the Kancept Kryo for a couple of weeks. It is a great EDC hard work knife, IMO.

I just picked up a CIVIVI Praxis in 9Cr18MoV; I've only had the steel once before, so I wanted to give it a fair shake -- apparently it's VG-10 class. Initial impressions are that the knife itself is pretty solid, though I haven't had a chance to put it to work yet. It's being carried in conjunction with my Victorinox Synergy.
Current Collection: Caly 3.5 (Aogami Super Blue), Chaparral LW (CTS-XHP), Dragonfly 2 (VG-10), Manix 2 LW (CPM-15V), Mule Team (VG XEOS), Native 5 Salt (LC200N), Stretch 2 (K390)
