Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
Dyad jr. (and its travel companions) arrived a week ahead of schedule, which truly makes it a 2025 acquisition. Just hours before the new year.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
I really wish the blades were slightly longer. I feel reluctant to use the plain edge one for most of my daily chores. It seems so fragile.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
Just received mine today. Love the little thing! The PE blade is a needle. Such a fine tip I'll probably use the SE blade for boxes and anything more beefy than that.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
I haven't had the opportunity to carry mine yet, but my first reaction to the PE blade was very positive. Fragile? Maybe, but also very pointy and precise. I think they solved it nicely. As you always have the option of using the more sturdy sheepsfoot SE blade, matching that blade with such a thin and precise PE blade makes for a very versatile total package.
I don't yet know where in my life this knife fits, but as it is, it adds more versatility to my knife selection than if it was just another hardy little 2.5" inch blade that my drawers are stuffed with already.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
As for using the PE blade, it is great for slicing apples and I have already used it 3-4 times to dig out wood splinters in my hand or fingers! That fine tip is perfect for splinter extraction!!aicolainen wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 3:14 amI haven't had the opportunity to carry mine yet, but my first reaction to the PE blade was very positive. I’m really enjoying mine. Nice slicey PE blade for fine cuts and the serrated blade for more heavy duty cutting. I carry it almost daily. I liked it so much I bought 2 more for Christmas gifts.
It rains rust in Hawaii.

It’s great to see so much enthusiasm for the Dyad Jr. which originally released in 1999 . Hopefully there will be more variants in the future and perhaps other older models . MG2

I quite enjoy carrying these 2 together

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
I've been on the notification list for Blade HQ for some time. It still says the Dyad Jr. is "coming soon" even though it's sold out on Spyderco's shop. I think maybe I missed out.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
I ordered a pair and they arrived today. Nice!
I'm curious about the "CLIPIT" on the scales despite being a clipless knife.

Re: Dyad Jr. SPY27 Release
I’ve been wondering the same thing. Maybe it’s a throwback from the original, larger version?
