I've wanted one of those C95 original lockback Manix's for such a long time now. Beautiful knife man. This is the oldest I've got

October 2010. Very jealous though
Very nice clear lock . I have a mod 154 CM version and also the first run C101 . Some of my all time favorite models . Glad to see an Illinois forum member !

MG2
Man those first runs are something. This is probably as close as I'll ever get

. I do love the original, I'm waiting on a decent deal on one I want, unfortunately the car just started having issues, part is a dealer only part, so it's waiting a week to get it to hopefully fix.
One day though, hopefully I'll get the original C95!
I just noticed that you're also from Illinois, been here, -most- of my life, was born here. Left to Georgia for a about a year with my late wife, what we thought was going to be a great new start in a beautiful area, unfortunately ended with our brand new house getting robbed/burglarized in 2019. So we ended up back here. I work close to the city, live more in the south suburbs (about 38 miles from Chicago, quite a drive every day, especially at 3:30am with the recent snow!)
@vivi
I did see the one up for bids, unfortunately as mentioned my car is having issues currently. Hopefully another (not overpriced) one will show up at some point. Those original ones really look amazing. I know they're a bit thicker and bigger than the XL, which is about the closest I've got (St. Nick's 4V G10 XL). I'll say I really like the XL, especially at the 65Rc the 4V knives are coming at (I didn't test the DLC coated one, but I did test my Fradon Lock Manix in 4V, 65.4Rc on the Starrett Digital Twin, verified with a 65Rc Buehler[the company that bought Wilson, the old Rockwell tester brand, they still sell top of the line Wilson branded tooling, including verified calibration blocks to 70Rc, you want to stay within 2Rc of the blade for most accurate results, even on the expensive, more advanced machines, something I learned in the field, and it really does make a difference, especially on more simple machines in the reading you get]). I love that model, but something about the original still has me wanting one. I just like larger knives. Though my tastes have changed a bit since getting into Spyderco

they now make up half of my new collection. I wish I got into this brand sooner.
As an aside, today's carry
The new (to me) PMA11 Mule with the CPM-154/S90V Manix. I've been loving carrying a folder with a Mule lately. To be honest, I really like the design of the Mule more than most fixed blades. It's an amazing platform. The way it's designed is amazing. I've got custom fixed blades, yet the Mule has been what I've been reaching for lately. It's a truly great knife.
