What would be your dream knife?

It would be great for pacifists and vegetarians, plus anyone who's legally prohibited from using a lock on a knife. The UK model is too short. I'd need exactly this for eating during my vegetarian days. Incidentally, there are a lot of vegetarians in the world. But no one really makes knives for them...

When slicing tomatoes and onions for a sandwich I only use a fixed blade or a locking folder.

A fixed blade Military, with a 4.5 inch blade model and a 6 inch blade model. The long one would have no choil, and the shorter one would have a smaller choil that echoes the Military 1 style. Micarta handles, Cruwear blade as the first iteration, followed by a titanium handled flash batch, and a G10 and Magnacut combo as well. Eventually a FRN lw version Bidirectional texture and a CTS BD1 blade.

Great question! And the answer is very simple: vegetarian food is best cut with a thin blade. A folding knife is convenient for vegetarians who are always on the go. It's also convenient for working with your hands without a cutting board. For example, say you need to peel and slice an apple, and you're a raw foodist. If you have a table, a cutting board, and a caidao, no problem.

A vegetarian folding knife doesn't necessarily need a blade lock. And the very attractive UK models are too short. A vegetarian knife also needs steel that's highly resistant to fruit acids. And since this is your daily tool, it should be as harmless and cute as possible so as not to raise questions from others.

I suspect that such a knife will evoke a friendly attitude towards it among many who see it.

It never changes. Stop handcuffing the Caribbean as a Salt only knife. Do away with the milled scales to bring the cost down and start introducing it in other steels. Even if they're just sprints it would be so nice to see. The real dream would be to bring back the serrated blades in CruWear and Spy27.

I love my SE Caribbean for exactly what it is, but I like the model enough that I'd also like to see a PE with a good all-round steel such as Magnacut, or maybe Maxamet, and a G10 handle...actually, Maxamet with a grey G10 handle sounds perfect.

I pretty much have my dream Spyderco knife already, it is a Lil’ Native Backlock with 15v blade steel. If I was to change something them maybe make the handle scales out of that purple G-10 from a few years ago or the dark blue G-10 being used on the new line of knives with SPY27 blade steel.

I have been trying to find one for over twenty years...

I want to make a line for line replica in 6Al4V Titanium and the blade will be cast 440C, actually pieces from the Serrata Project. BUT the blade will be PE...

The lock back mechanism will be 440C hot rolled steel.

The steel parts will be coated in Flat Grey Kalgard Gun Kote for salt water resistance, but will probably need to be re-coated when needed.

The sheath will be Kydex with Ti bolts.

Even if I never find one, the Probe Project will be a goer, based on Auto Cad measurements I made from photos on the 'Net.

I hope to do two, one for Sal. just because... :)

It's really hard to pass up the Calypso. I have the first knife from the very first batch, number 141. And a Caly 3.5. They're both excellent knives. The first is a little big for vegan use. And the second is a little heavy. For vegan use, I'd prefer a version similar to the Caly. In its style, but lighter and 3.2-3.5 inches. It looks quite peaceful.

You don't write by hand on a piece of paper and upload scanned text here. You use fonts created by programmers. What's wrong with me not being able to draw like an artist and using my drawings as prompts for an artificial intelligence? And it, with great difficulty, somehow manages to create what I envisioned based on my requirements.

If you have your own thoughts on new knife models, illustrate them, even if it's just a scribble. And share them here. I'm just here to support you.

Are you perhaps wondering how Spyderco can survive economically in these challenging times? Or are you suggesting interesting new knife models? If you're as positive as I am, please let me know. We could also suggest a contest: everyone could share their ideas and post sketches of new Spyderco knives here. I think it would be interesting and useful. I'm always for any benefit for Spyderco.

Stretch 2 XL with a waterway-like FRN handle. Liner-less, and any mid-high end stainless steel would work. Love the neutral feel of the waterway and everything else about the stretch. I'd like to see spyderco utilize linear handles a bit more, no swells or bumps. Little more versatile and comfortable for me personally.

Generally, I'd like to see most of the compression lock models converted to top-liner button locks. If we could get them running on bearings, even better.

While not a compression lock model, I'd love to see something like the RockJumper, with its ergonomic handle, done as a top-liner button lock on bearings. Give it Micarta or Richlite handles... a guy can dream.
