Customs slipjoint by Dutch knifemaker Joseph Haans. Titanium bolsters, burgundy micarta and Niolox spring and blade. Incredibly refined knife 👌I have started leatherwork so I made this slip. Will need to get some darker hides for the next slip to match the knife.

unpopular opinion around here, but having owned both.....my collection currently consists of 3 Recons, 2 Recon XL's, and no shamans.

the recon is my favorite modern single blade folder not made by spyderco.

Yup, the Recon 1 has beefy blade stock and contouring on the scales like the Shaman, and it doesn't have an annoying finger choil nub. It's less expensive than an S30V Shaman. The only thing it lacks is a thumbhole opener.

I may try the XL Recon if one pops up for sale locally.

yeah the contouring on them is incredible. feels great in my grip. the way they double contour the finger grooves makes a big difference in ergonomics.

they did a new run of the XL's, so any online retailer thst carries CS should have stock.

1800k! You're a mad man lol. I'm still stuck on the 4000k SST20, but it seems like it's mostly fallen out of favor for 5000k :/

How do you like the D3AA? I was a huge fan of the D4 (and probably own 10 Emmisar lights), but the TS10 has all but made the D4 obsolete to me. As much as I prefer a side switch, the tail switch is just not nearly as prone to turn on in my pocket without unscrewing locking out the D4.

That knife still looks great!

Hahah!! Yeaaa, 1800k is a bit warm, but I absolutely love it around the house at night. Makes me feel like everything looks like photos from the 70's. I have a bunch of Fenix lights in the 6000-6500 range, so it's fun to have lights from all ends of the spectrum.

My other two D3AA's are 2700k and 4200k (rosy) so it's nice rounded trio for whatever mood I'm feeling.

Image

I love the D3AA! My 3 ranged with options from $35-$90. Hank has a new release coming out soon, similar to the D3AA but with the tailswitch. I think it's called a KR1AA or something close to that.

Here's my 3 D3AA's with my TS10'S. The Copper and Ti model TS10 are triple emitters with 4000k. The black is the single emitter with 300 meters of throw, pretty incredible for a light that small! 6500k for that one I believe.

Image

Loving the knife! Since im down to 14 total these days, it's been seeing fairly regular carry. I don't cut anything ridiculous with it, but it does get used.
