Endela inspired Salt

We have the Delica inspired Salt.
We have the Endura inspired Pacific Salt.

Will we ever see an Endela inspired version in the Salt series??

I have a burning desire to see a Endela Salt ! I would love to see all three steels used in Salts included with both blade configurations . MG2

You give me an Endela Salt in magnacut and I would buy it immediately.

I'd probably buy one but I would rather have a LeafJumper Salt, serrated LC200N would be fine!

I think it would be cool, especially as a wharncliffe it could fill a gap in the lineup.

I’d buy a LeafJumper Salt instantly, count me in!
I’d likely buy an Endela Salt too.

The Endela is what I hoped the PM2 would be. I think this is a good idea.

Always glad when someone brings this up again, I do so too myself periodically (see here for example viewtopic.php?t=85893)

Wonder if the Endela perhaps does not sell well enough for getting "salted"? Since the current model is in FRN with liners a linerless Salt version would require new, expensive molds

Perhaps they also have to decide if out of the Seki FRNs in that particular sizerange the Stretch 2 or the Endela gets the Salt treatment? I personally would hope for the latter.
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

A Stretch 2 drop point blade Salt model would be great. The Endela would require new molds too so really a toss up if sales would dictate a difference variant too . Both models in size would compete with the PM2 Salt . Great idea ! Dan

I would be interested in an Endela Salt. In the meantime, I'm going to see if the Spy27 variant is stainless enough for my needs.

I'll probably still grab either a Pac Salt or Military 2 Salt if the weather is really bad.

I think and Endela Salt would be great, if the tip is kept the same as in the regular version, and is NOT changed and blunted more into a sheepsfoot in the way that the Pacific and Salt 1& 2 models were changed from the Endura and Delica.

Discussed recently also in another thread: I personally would actually like to see that more pronounced drop towards the tip also in an "Endela Salt", especially since it is an easy mod to make it pointier without sacrificing edge length (which would happen vice versa if one ADDED that kind of "blunting").
I understand and respect though that most regular customers aren´t able or willing to mod their knives like you and I and probably many on this forum.

I´d also like the other more or less subtle changes that where made from Delica 4 to Salt 2 also in Endela to "Endela Salt"
- An a bit longer, more handle filling blade (Salt 2 blade about 2mm longer than Delica blade)
- A larger opening hole (and by that an a tad taller blade and steeper thumb ramp - the latter is rather a slight con in my book though).
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):

- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Hey Dan,

whenever the proposal of a "mid sized Seki Salt" comes up I like to mention the Atlantic Salt.

This already existing model actually pretty much HAS Endela size and a handle that looks very "Stretch-ish" or also "PM2 -ish" (both models also in the Endela size range) - see pic below.

I understand that the Atlantic Salt handle is kind of "old school" (barrel clip, volcano texturing...) - but that said:
If the Atlantic was offered with other, more common blade shapes (drop point, leaf shape) it would come pretty close to a "Stretch Salt".

I actually did a thread/poll on this once, see here viewtopic.php?t=88094

If it can be made in H2 steel which is a Salt related steel, like the Pacific Salt, that would be great.
Endela is a great knife.

Leafjumper salt would be awesome.
-Enlarged spydiehole (works with gloves)
-Enlarged lanyard hole (works with more thicknesses of rope/lanyards)
-I would just add jimping on the spine of the blade for grip when wet.

Instant buy from me

Oh man, I forgot that thread myself my friend ;)
Just remembered it when the topic came up here again...

I wonder how let´s say a sprint run of the Atlantic Salt with a leaf shaped blade would fare.
And how costly it would be for Spyderco to "just" cut and install a different blade shape for the handle (I guess definitely a magnitude less than making new FRN molds for a new model though).

Atlantic Salt handle would be a no-go for me since it adds a choil.

Absence of the choil is one of my favorites features of the Endela.

This is actually a great idea. No new molds required and with a drop point or leaf shaped blade it would be a knife I would buy and carry in preference to a PM2 Salt. Ideally with a choice of hollow ground H2 or ffg LC200N.

You mean a linerless (like the usual Seki Salts are) LJ Salt?

It´s really not much more than a wild and uneducated guess: But I still believe that the Jumpers and the whole great backlock handle forward concept would have had a better chance and reception if they had been released as linerless Salt models with perhaps even a new handle color in the first place instead of in the "boring VG10/black linered FRN combo" (this is NOT me speaking, I really like exactly that combo, especially in SE - but I think a large part of "the market" might feel like that).
