Really nice looking Mikey177. I really like the looks of the Swick. One of the blades I don't have around here.

My Wharncliffe for this week.

Thanks, @Jeb.

That is indeed a great photo of the Yojumbo. I'm very tempted to get one in S30V just to try out.

That was me, I looked at the design of just the grip and I thought there just has to be something about that shape I was not seeing.

After I got the biggest one, as those are for me and my way lol, I can say there is in fact something about this wild and somewhat weird shaped grip... it's just freaking awesome in my paw.

I knew I already loved the Wharncliffe blade, I just couldn't see the shape and very specific grip being all it is, let alone something that Spyderco would manufacture, so I just had to get one to see what it's all about. I knew Spyderco wouldn't make these if they were all wrong...

Darn thing is amazing in my paw. Can't really explain the why either if you just look at it, put one in your paw and it's just right!!!

You're right, Jeb. The Yojumbo does feel good in hand. The G10 is extra grippy as well.

Jeb , have the Sprint Yojumbo and like it a lot but it resists opening . Closes with a nice drop and perfectly centered. Another Forum member and I took apart and inspected and looked good , relubricated and it still does not open smoothly. I had a Yojimbo and cramped my hand closing and loved it with no issues . Any ideas ? Dan

Dan,

Yes, what you can do to adjust the opening tension on these knives is all in the compression lock bar. The more positive lock tension, the harder they are to open. This tension is also what keeps the blade closed

If you take that side of the knife off, pull the liner out of the scale and just bend the compression lock backwards a little, you can adjust the opening tension to where you like it.

You can test this easy enough before you do anything to your knife, just hold your knife with the blade where it would drop open, if there was no tension holding it.

While holding the knife like this, pinch the compression lock tab as to unlock the blade if your knife was locked open, the blade will fall open freely once you do this...

It's hard to type this vs telling you, did I make enough sense out of this lol? If not I can make another attempt at this or, I will even send you a PM with my cell phone number and we can hash this over like that.

That and/or I can do this little tweaking on it for you if you would like me too, you send it to me and I can relief the tension on it and turn the knife back at you in a one day flip.

I bet you and your buddy can do this and can test it each time you make a little adjustment to the compression lock and get this adjusted like you want it.
