Dan,

That Hyacinth you cut down, it have these purple beans on it? Looks like this stuff I got here that seems to be pretty hearty with our environment here, it has these small purple blooms that turn into these purple beans as they mature.

Otherwise it's a big beautiful dark green bush that loves full sun here... I never knew what or where this thing here come from, the birds brought this one in as we never planted it and it's certainly not native to our area here.

Yes the purple in picture is a pod , they dry out in Sun and once it loses color and pod becomes brittle crack open for the seeds . Usually pod can have two to four black with white stripe inside . They up here a vine and have a trellis on shed where we grow the vines every year . The area is contained in concrete where they come out of ground so can’t spread. Trellis is between to Hummingbird feeders and they love to perch on the vines and attack any other Hummingbird if they want to drink out of feeder . We put out 18 feeders and are down to two . Most are long gone but we are still getting stragglers . We had one come in today ,took a long drink and flew off . I sent Salty some seeds for next year . Hyacinth is aggressive but the Cardinal vine is very aggressive. We set up a trellis on opposite side of shed because they overwhelmed the Clematis on back porch last two years .

We don't get many hummingbirds, I might see and/or hear one or two a year as they pass through here traveling. Heck it's to hot and dry here for living creatures lol...

Now that's a cool shot. I like how the dry cracked ground contrasts with the blue scales. Nice!
