Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I carried my NC a few times this week. I'm very happy with it.
Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I do not pry with my folders but I have stabbed various objects with my Chief.
The Magnacut chief has become my favorite yardwork/hiking / cutting food on the fly knife. It’s a really great design. It is also super slim in pocket. For a long time I avoided it because of its size but it carries smaller than my pm2 thanks to the flat spine and sleek profile.
10/10 would recommend the Native Chief

Just one more knife...
Re: Native Chief User Stories?
somehow the Chief has gotten a reputation for being a pocket sword despite being a mere 7mm longer closed than a PM2, and basically the same closed size as an Endura.
It carries really well, I agree. I may give the salt version a try someday.

Re: Native Chief User Stories?
The Chief actually feels somewhat compact in my medium-sized hands. I know it's a large folding knife, but it doesn't feel like a pocket sword to me at all. I find it quite comfortable.

True to life user story…
Mine sits on my desk and replaces a stress ball … it provides all the same benefits, and if not focused, a bit more penalty.

Yup, same here (actually that's true for most of my Spyderco knives tbh...).

I had one of those cardboard tubes to cut down a short while ago, the thick, very rigid sort for packing long fragile items that won’t crush under your heel.
My s90v NC stabbed through one side and cut around, twice. The blade was hot. No noticeable edge degradation, no tip damage.

I flamed the clip. I really like how it pops against the brown micarta. It blends in well with jeans and khakis.

Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I carried mine for 2 weeks straight after I received it. The knife works well as a general purpose blade and fits well in pocket for its size.
I will say that this is the first knife that I have bent the pocket clip. I have no idea how it happened but it surprised tye heck out of me. I was able to bend it backwater removing it and placing in my vice.
I was wearing shorts with kind of shallow pockets, so maybe somehow it got flexed while I was driving or something.
I love the knife.

I have the salt and like it a lot. Purchased for beach/fishing edc originally. Need to work on edge however, for some reason not getting desired results on my wicked edge but I know it is on me not the knife. Also have g10 spy 27.
Need to reset both edges and take my time. Have not used either extensively yet as I have too many spydercos in roatation but like the size and ease of carrying with the no ramp profile.
Edit - this tread just reminded me that I need to lock tight the clip screws on the salt. Had lossened up and I retightened but did not know where blue locktight was at the time

Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I have 3 Native Chiefs right now in REX45, M390, and I recently picked up a Crucarta version. I don’t have any hard use stories and it took me a while to catch on but I have been surprised how much more pocket time a Native Chief is seeing over my new Magnacut and 15v Military. If I were to choose one of the two for a hard use folder it would still be the Military but the Chief carries really sleek and has ample blade for most any task. It is rapidly becoming my most carried knife.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I posted something similar in another thread.
Over the past few weeks I've been going over toughness charts that were produced by Larrin I believe.
CruWear really stands out for toughness, so I am carrying my CruCarta and will be buying a few more of them.
I know that Vivi said for self defense a tougher steel is a better idea and I do not find fault with that statement. I support it.
