Interesting, this one is a 2020 factory second. I don't know what the HRC is though.JFR1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 1:52 pm
In my personal experience, S110V can vary wildly from knife to knife. My 2018-era UKPK is very forgiving whereas my 2022/2023 era Native 5 is noticeably more brittle. I love both for what they are, but in some ways they behave almost like two different steels.
Regardless...
Used my UKPK to cut an access hole for a switch in an armrest I re-upholstered and to widen a hole for a cable pass-through. Used my Native to open numerous parts packages.

V,
I am going to guess here, second to the last pic you tacked up, that red handled small thing a fire starter? If so which one is that? I have not seen one of them whatever it is lol...
The fire looks inviting too

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I performed surgery on middle finger tip gathering scrap chunks of Oak at a place in town that sold it for stoves and fireplaces . Loaded up back with enough to help burn two tarp loads of Crabapple branches. Hopped into trunk and when I grabbed steering wheel I felt it . Dragonfly Salt was my surgical tool . Funny thing , a pair of gloves was sitting in passenger seat and thought I would not need them !
No pics for obvious reasons ! MG2

yep, it's a fire starter. I don't remember which brand it was though, sorry.
I do like this one a lot. it's quite large, making it easier to use - https://www.chicagoknifeworks.com/wisem ... rro-rod-2/

Yes that is exactly what I like about it too. Not a big fan of the little ones...
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Made myself a cane. Used the Para 3 CPM 15V for the wood work including skinning the bark. Used the Spy27 modified mule 2 to cut up an old trail running shoes for the rubber tip.

reptiles are very fascinating creatures. used to bring home snakes, lizards and turtles nearly every week growing up in broken arrow.
we found a snake last night!

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Nice! Congrats on catching the baby, or juvenile, Rat Snake (and the lizards). Love the look of a baby Rat Snake. Very handsome/pretty snake. Great snakes to have around, super good climbers, one of the more calm snakes too.
