Original Karambit (Warren Thomas)

#1

Post by American1776 »

I own the first Spyderco Karambit, the Warren Thomas. It’s an amazing piece, made to custom level quality. Reminds me of the fit and finish of a Sebenza.

One thing I noticed is how paper thin the tip is. I have original Tuffram Aluminum Civilian models, and my Karambit is even thinner at the tip and spine.

It makes me wonder how this knife would hold up in the event it had to be used in a defensive situation? Was this design made with the assumption that the tip would probably break, but it would be a lifesaving tool, like the civilian?

Anyone thoughts or info on the design would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am pretty sure that if I carried that knife it would only be a matter of time before I hurt myself with it. It’s a wickedly beautiful knife though.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.
