I need to get my metabolism up.

I think I will start to lift light weights, jump rope, and run on the treadmill. I am not going to walk on the treadmill. I found out by wearing my watch one day, and another day carrying my phone that I am over 7 miles per day walking at work in a 10hr shift. It is keeping the fat off.

I may finally buy a heavy striking bag and gloves this October.

This Fall and Winter are not going to be a time to lay around and get fat again.

When Courage Beats Size

I remember this fight from years ago. Michael Jai White, who believes that physical size determines everything, would have said that the smaller guy could NEVER beat the bigger guy.

Once again, whether it's in a sport or on the street, Don't. Underestimate. Anyone.

I think if I wanted a cane, I'd choose one of the Cane Masters canes with the palm rest added, and the checkered texture in hickory. I prefer a straight walking stick of around 51" to 53" long over a cane. But that wouldn't fly on a plane (no pun intended). To carry a walking stick on a plane, it has to fit into an overhead luggage bin. A cane will fit.

I own a couple of the molded plastic/nylon walking sticks by Cold Steel. IMO, they're too thick, too heavy, and are awkward to use as a walking stick. I've also seen destruction test videos that people outside of Cold Steel made. Some of those molded sticks broke due to defects ... air bubbles from during the molding process inside of the sticks, that created a weak point.

I'll probably buy just what you stated from Cane Masters around New Years or earlier.

If you are on X/Twitter give the following retired Seal a follow if you are interested in the training mindset. If you are not on X/Twitter there are a lot of accounts to follow and you can ignore everyone else, just set your account to PRIVATE. There are too many great accounts to ignore the FREE service, FREE info.

Spyderco is on X too.

There are some harsh truths that Vee skipped discussing.

Vee is correct about everything he said and did in this video. Rewatch the video if you have never lived in a large US city because this is the reality for everyone who lives there, they are all very careful regarding their surroundings and are prepared to immediately defend themselves.

I lived on and off for 25+ years on the South Side of Chicago, 4 miles from the dead center of Downtown. All the neighborhoods surrounding our neighborhood had more homicides, robberies, and carjackings. To get anywhere I had to pass through those neighborhoods, day or night. I was not bulletproof, so I moved, and I did not take my time after I decided to move. I moved immediately.

Violent crime in Chicago is unreal, it is worse than NYC, L.A., maybe worse than any other large city in the USA. You get PTSD just living there.

"I Watched Like 30 Times"

This is not MA-related at all, but the lesson here is: If you're being detained by several cops, don't attempt to flee; especially while handcuffed with your hands behind your back.

BTW, this is a perfect example of using someone's own momentum against them.
